Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

sandihas:  Yes, if you do not have military ID, you should book in your SR's name.  You can call and change it....or....change it when you check in.

Good Morning All !

My son's gf and I both got letters out to him last night after receiving the form letter.  She's writing another one to him to go out tomorrow but, frankly, I can't think of anything new to say that I didn't write 24 hours ago.  LOL.

When my son was in Culinary School he lived two hours from us, so I'm used to him being gone.  Sometimes I would only talk to him once a week or even less.  I'm having an easier time of it than his gf.  I just want him to be focused and doing his very best. Looking forward to getting his first letter!!

Hi Susanne,

We have not gotten the letter yet......but his recruiter gave us his division and PIR date. (I know this could be wrong........). But I also made reservations at the Navy Lodge earlier. I need to call tho because it didn't ask about our recruit. Need to make sure I did it right.
