N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Urban farm girl we haven't received a personal letter yet either. I am so worried about the phone call coming when we are at a family thing Sat with no cell service. I wonder do the falls come more on Sunday's? The rest of the weekend I am going no where.

JoJo: Most likely, he will be flying out the day after PIR. Your sailor will have after PIR with you until about 8 or 9 pm that night before returning to RTC. They are bussed to the airports later PIR night to wait for Sat. flights. You can meet them at the airport and wait with them. We advise all to stay until Sunday if possible just in case their new sailors are among the lucky ones that sometimes don't fly out until Sunday. Doesn't happen too often, but if flights are hard to get on Saturday, it could happen. They will not know what their flights are until right before PIR.
Look into booking on Southwest Airlines into either Chicago-Midway or Milwaukee since there is no change fee and 2 bags check for free. Milwaukee is a shorter (time-wise) drive to RTC, further in miles, but no traffic....about 45 min....drive from Midway is an hour+ depending on traffic in Chicago. The sailors will fly out of either Ohare or Midway.

Hello,Jojo, I think the form letter said if A school is out of state then they'll leave the next day. And that they have I guess free time a couple hours or so after graduation. But depends on what time there flight leave you can go hang out with them at airport

Woo hoo! Got my SR phone call about an hour ago (maybe more, I'm on cloud 9) and he cried a little and then sounded good.  Asked for bandaids and to bring chocolate milk to PIR weekend! LOL We got to talk about 10-15 minutes. :)

Just received a phone call from my son. Emotional but kept it upbeat. Also got about 10 letters today. Keep your phones close.

I've made reservations for a hotel about a mile and a half from base, wit free cx. I am still trying to get reservations for the Navy lodge instead. Just didn't want to get stuck with nothing.
I'm just not sure what our SRs have leisure wise after graduation. I know he goes to Texas afterwards. Anyone, know were I can find that info? I reserved the 15th through the 19th to be safe. Problem is, I don't want buy plane tickets (that are not changable and end up sitting there for days after he flies out.
