N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

So, does anyone have an idea yet as to when Battlestations will be for our guys?

got  a short letter yesterday. He said the division is coming together well and the RDC's have lightened up on "dropping them".  Sounded excited about Firefighting.  Pics were Monday, and overall he is counting down- 14 days til we see our Sailors!  There was a time when I didn't think I could make it this far :)  I'm sure they thought that 100 times, though. Getting excited!

Yep, no care packages can be sent!  BIG trouble.  My son was there during the Christmas holidays the year he was up there.  Someone in TX (a vendor) sent him a box of Christmas goodies.....no name in the box.  We live in FL and knew no one in TX.  When it arrived, the RDCs grilled him....who sent this?  He had no clue.  After they finished with him, convinced that he didn't know, they confiscated the box and he saw them eating the candy in their office later!  So, bottom line, no care pkgs.  You can send items they may request....like the girls can have makeup to use for piks/PIR....and they can all have contacts.......with a small amount of the fluid.  Don't send these unless they ask you to.  They need to be expecting it.  Also label the outside of the envelope with what you are sending.

There are pictures up on the Blood Drive page. Guys and Gals both shown... Search for Armed Services Blood Program, Great Lakes, IL. Not sure what divisions are there today. My SR said that 313 was going this Friday though...

I dont think SR's can receive care packages. I've only sent letters with photos, stamps & envelopes. I actually called to make sure this was ok to send because I put it in a Manila envelope. I think once they are out of boot they can receive packages. The Veteran Moms here will be able to answer for certain but that was my understanding of packages.

Good Morning All, I read on one the FB pages about sending our SR's a gift package, can anyone clarify for me what it is that we should send. I looked at the brochure that come with the form letter and didn't see anything about this. I don't want to be the only mom who doesn't send a package any help will be greatly appreciated
