N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Thanks for the info FTLW and Curlyq.  How long ago did you receive the stuff from Navy Fed?  Considering I haven't received his form letter yet I'm worried that I'm missing other mail as well.... not good.  When I spoke to him Sunday he said he was using the correct zip code so something else is missing.

My daughter went with a deposit slip to, but she got some stuff from Navy Fed sent here so she must have opened an account with them.

Most Active duty Sailors will open a NavyFed account. It's easier for them, so I am sure they are encouraged to do so.

Reservists can as well. My son kept his civilian bank. His money goes in a day early just like NavyFed.

Thanks proudwife948 and diannep.  I sent him with a deposit slip but I'm thinking he may have set up a navy account.  I asked him in the last letter I sent him.

Thanks for sharing navymommia.  I hope to get one from my baby soon.  I just want to hear that he is okay.

Good morning everyone!

Sharing from my letters I got...those boots are not comfy lol but he figured they will get better. Be never knew a person could put the scare into you like the rtc asst do. Lol he has gotten 6 shots. The strep one he high in his rear hurt the worst. They carry packs that weigh 75lbs. He had passed his dep test. First day of pt they showed them just what boot camp really was. Divv343 has clicked and is really moving together and growing as a group and individually. He says he really misses home but loves it. It's also made him realize how much his family means to making him whole and he needs all of us!! I can say reading his words brought me a sense of peace. I pray all of you get your letters very soon.

Josh Mom, my husband has already been paid once. I noticed it on the 31st. I had been checking before that.. He shipped out on the 12th of August as well. I don't know if that helps at all.

Comment by diannep on September 2, 2015 at 9:56pm

Josh Mom.....the deposits are at the 1st and 15th of the month (a day earlier if a Navy Fed account).  It usually takes 2-3 weeks after arrival before they start to come in.  So...if your SR didn't have a deposit yesterday, it may be the 15th.
