Hi! I live in Glendale and have a daughter in MEPS who goes to boot camp in August. Can't wait to get to know some fellow AZ moms!

Time for the monthly casual get-together of Navy moms and loved ones! Meet up at AJ's at Val Vista & Baseline in Mesa.  If you can't make this one, it's always the first Sunday of the month.  Happy New Year, GO NAVY!

Hi ladies! I'm from Phoenix. I have two Sailors in the Navy. My son is in Goose Creek just finishing up A school. My daughter graduated boot camp on 12/4 and is going to start A school at Great Lakes. Good news is that they are both coming down to spend a few days with us. The surprise is that my son does not know that my daughter got her leave approved to travel to Phoenix. He was really bummed that we were all going to be together while my daughter spent Christmas at Great Lakes. It's really hard keeping it hush from him because I'm so happy i'm bursting to tell everyone. This year I just thank God that I will have my little family together even if it is for a few days.I don't need a better Christmas present than that!

Hey moms!  The monthly east valley casual get-together for Navy moms and loved ones has been switched to the FIRST SUNDAY of the month, in hopes more moms can make it  :)  The next one will be Sunday, December 6, at AJ's in Mesa at Val Vista and Baseline.  It's just an informal get-together over coffee from 6:30 pm to whenever, hope you can make it!

Hi ladies-My sailor had PIR 10/9 & now waiting to class up in P'cola for ATO training this week. But, latest we heard it's now going to be January. I am in Phoenix, but also spend a week each month in Tucson, where the mom of my sailor's BC bunkmate lives. Hopefully, can catch the next evening meeting you have.

Welcome tessina75 :)  Yes it's hard in the beginning, take comfort in knowing he's made a great decision  :)  You can be doing some things now that will help him after BC.   What will his job (rating) be after bootcamp?  You can join a group for it and learn more about it.  If you know where he'll be for A School or where his first duty station will be, you can join those groups too to learn more.  For example, this group Norfolk Sailors - Family and Friends is really active and has a lot of good info about everything from car ownership to living quarters to where to stay when you visit.  And last - be sure to go to AJ's (Val Vista and Baseline inMesa) the first Monday of the month at 6:30 pm to meet other Navy moms to chat with!
