Is there anyone on here with a CTI sailor at DLI now?

Fyi- We spoke with our CTI To Be ("CTI2B") and they are waiting for classes to start in about 3-4 weeks but are going ahead and hitting their quals.  They don't have an official mailing or shipping address yet until they get into formal class and their next berthing assignments.

Thank you all- our CTI to be made it there, too.  Wasn't held.  Was nice to have an extra three hours at the airport with her!   Wish we had that beautiful Monterey weather here!!!

DNavyFamily, daughter said nearly 10 female beds available. There could be other reasons to be held at GL but accommodations is not a problem. Before my daughter's PIR she was given different days that she may ship out. We went to GL with the attitude of be prepared for most anything. So again take everything she wants and be prepared to take it back home to ship later. Good luck to you and your recruit. She will truly enjoy her next chapter.

DNavyFamily, my daughter left GL on Saturday after PIR July 24. She has been involved in various duties till classes begin this week. Others that left with her began their classes the next week after arriving. It is according to the language they are assigned. I will ask her about the lodging capacity the next time we talk, which is currently EVERY DAY! After class starts that will change. Take the phone to PIR anyway. If it does not work out because of delay you can ship it to her. Your sailor will just need to use her phone card for a couple of days. Regular mail only takes 3 days. The big expense will be when you start shipping her civilian clothes to DLI. East coast to West coast is expensive but oh well, she is worth it. Take civilian clothes for your sailor to change into after PIR if you will be taking her to a room. If they are going out they are required to stay in uniform. My sailor enjoyed putting on her underwear and shorts and a teeshirt.

Hey there bbcregular!  Did your CTI get held at Great Lakes or did she leave on Saturday after PIR?  We are getting some chatter that the next DLI-bound bunch is having to stay in the temporary hold unit (THU) due to space constrains at DLI.  Anyone else hear that, too?  Just trying to juggle our plane flight and seeing if we can get our CTI to be their cell phone at the airport or have to ship it later.  Thanks!

Hi Sherbond, Welcome to the group. Not much happens on this group with us all being instructed to stay hushed. I follow the group looking for info. My baby girl is at DLI and classes finally start tomorrow. As you know, your daughter is going to love it. Good luck getting through boot camp again and congratulations on raising your family with the desire to serve our country.
