I do not know the model number. It was the baby G and is all black.
Shawna, We had a blanket made for our daughter's PIR. It has about 35 photos of the family and pets growing up and recent. She loves it and has it on her bed at A school. She says it makes her feel close to the family. We also gave her a challenge coin. A sister made a matching pillow with different photos and some of her siblings went together on a G shock. She loved all the gifts.
Jean,
We need a 5 day weekend and a 2 day workweek!!!!
JayDee,
Sorry I'm late in wishing you a Happy Birthday!!! Got on early Saturday but then missed all the posts the rest of that day!!! So happy that you heard from your daughter and that she is doing well. And congrats on getting her rating she wanted!!
Rebeccachaplain,
So happy to hear your daughter is doing so well in A school. Yes, what would we do without all these modern forms of communication?? I just got to skype with oldest son and little granddaughter yesterday!!!
Shawna,
So glad you got your phone call plus the form letter with her PIR info. We really didn't do a graduation gift for our daughter except for spending time with her. But a couple ideas I can think of: a nice black watch she can wear with her uniform, a new duffle bag and or garment bag which she will use anytime she travels after bootcamp. My daughters both have a digie blue duffle bag with wheels and a handle that then they can fold up and stuff in a closet when not in use. They got them at a NEX. If all else fails, a VISA bank card she can use for whatever she may want!!! Including a pizza for dinner!!!
Oleander's suggestion of a watch sounds good!!!
Hope no one is having to deal with all the flooding in the Carolinas and Virginia. I'm a little relieved to know our Sailor Son and his family left Virginia Beach just last week, now in Hawaii!!! Daughter Catherine is in the DC area but haven't heard of any problems from her. I think it's rained off and on every day since we got here to Florida. I thought this was the sunshine state?!?!?!
Shawna - my daughter keeps asking me to "send a nap in the mail". :) We're planning on heading back to the hotel after the ceremony and allowing her to sleep for awhile as part of her gift. Silly maybe, but I think it's what she wants.
You're more than welcome Shawna! One more thing you may want to look into: we bought a very small pair of bird watching binoculars for PIR, passed them back & forth to one another - even shared with a family in front of us. The hall isn't huge but it was amazing to be able see every facial expression (very slight) and knew when she was locking her eyes on us. Thrilling! They're not expensive and are small enough to fit in your bag easily.
Morning everyone! Happy Monday.
Congratulations Shawna! Such a gift to hear their voices, plus you got the form letter! Yay!.
Our daughter's PIR was May 8th - we got her this Baby-G Shock Cassio watch. To this day she says it's the best thing we could've given her. Must be black.
