N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Alex'sMom   My daughter shipped out 9/16.  Ship 04 div 008.  I think our PIR group only goes to Div 010.  Div 011 would be PIR 11/20/15.  But do not hold me to that.  I would go to that group and ask around.

Alex'sMom:  Seems the recruiter should have updated ship/div info for him if it changed.  Hopefully you will hear from your SR soon and can verify everything.

Alex's mom I personally think it could go either way. But sounds more like your in the right place. This question is probably better for Ellen or Diannep

Well, I'm wondering if I'm in the wrong PIR group. My son shipped out on 9/22. He got to GL and called me at 10:30pm. I received his clothes on 9/25 and have not received any contact from him. Not even the form letter. Its been 15 days since he got there. I called the recruiter and he said the night he arrived he was assigned Ship 003 Div 011 but that that could change after P-days. I'm wondering if he actually got held till the next week's recruits came in because he got in so late at night (an unfortunate back of the line kinda thing). I booked my flights for 11/13. Does anyone think I may be onto something and that his PIR may be 11/20 even though he arrived with everyone else in this group?

I live in California and last week I received a letter on Thursday. So I'm hoping to get one tomorrow.

Great news MaeRay.  So happy for you.  Good sign feeling hopeful.

MaeRay, that's awesome to hear! We are brother divisions! My son recruiter calked one of my sons friends to say he was OK doing good. My son and his friend we're very close since e OK elementary school and his friend took it really hard when he left. So knowing my son, he was really concerned for his friend. My heart warms knowing we all raised all our men/women well! Be strong NavyMoms!
