DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Texasmom my son said that its "crazy exciting" That the guys in his group are all cool. That they have a nickname for him already. lol  They are all making friends.  They did 5 days of medical. "The one on my !@# was not cool" :) lol  His group is co-ed so they all need to be careful. And everyone is coming together.

LoveMySailor, yaaaay for the letters!! I'm still waiting. Hoping to have one in mailbox. Crazy, my mailbox was rekeyed, at apartment complex, and I've been unable to get to office the past two days before they close. Been working late. Sooo, I've had to wait patiently, last night and again tonight. I'll finally be able to get to apartment office in the morning and get into my mailbox. Hoping!!
Did he say anything you care to share!?

So excited and happy to see our SR's 2nd letter in the mail box today...yay! He sounds good. He's been working hard they they all are I'm sure. He said, lots of studying, drill, PTing etc. He was happy to to pass his tests and make rank. He said they also got their Dog tags so he/they are that much closer to becoming a Sailor. Hopefully he is finally receiving our mail. Getting excited and praying for his call this weekend! Not moving from this house, staying put!

I intentionally left a voice mail from my SR on my phone just so I could hear her voice.  Unfortunately I erased it just after listening to it yesterday. :(
