Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 369 and 370

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Nuke&SnipesMom,   What a great day yesterday!  then when got home there on the table a letter, I brought it to work with me today to read it again, again, and again. My eldest son went out last night and bought me another blue candle, I will light for everyone in div 369&370... Moo yea! Meet and Greet!

THE UNDERWEAR, my son said aweful, during his situps the tag actually scratched his back and it started to bleed... what are these tags made of? cardboard.... Oh yes, boxers lounge wear and his favorite shower products... I am starting to get excited.. on the call from him, he said that they all were waiting for letters  :(  I hope they get them soon.. I will write again today.. Everyone have a wonderful Friday!

Ready for PIR 42 days makes me feel better to I have my airline ticket hotel Rent-A-Car ready to go. Can't wait for my next letter and hopefully phone call.

Well, I am finally in the "letter club"!  Yippee!  We got letters yesterday!  It was so awesome to read 3 pages of details from our son, in his new improved block writing, on official RTC stationary!!  From what it sounds like, Div 369 has gotten a lot of IT so far...but he did say they are starting to come together more as a team!  He said he is surprised at how little opportunity there is to actually talk to anyone...mainly just at bedtime!  He was also pretty excited about wearing his cammies with his name on them.  I wish they could send pictures!!

Hoping for a letter today .  I know that some parents got another call from Div 369 (as per the PIR group page on facebook).  Not this Momma.  Wednesday is mail days for me, so keeping my fingers crossed he filled out my questionnaire and sent it back. That's the only way I'll get all my questions answered.   Counting down..........37 days til we hug our Sailors....doesn't seem too bad when counting the Fridays. We stayed at Candlewood Suites in Waukegan for my oldest son's PIR. It was nice and the kitchenette and private bedroom were nice as well. It was close to PIR- we had to drive back and forth all weekend to the base to pick up and drop off our Sailor because he was staying in Great Lakes for A school.  He's still there, too, so hoping to spend time with both of our Sailors :)

How nice! You'll get to see both of your sons. I haven't received or heard any more from my Sailor. One call and one letter and I miss him so much! But the idea of seeing him in 37 days keeps me going. I booked the Days Inn and I did it through the Internet and now I can't change my reservation. Do not use Hotelsone.com they say they guarantee the lowest rate and then when you find a lower rate they claim they can't make adjustments. I'm paying almost $100 more, but I won't think about it, I just want to get there and give my Sailor the biggest hug he's ever had!
Thought u ladies might like this...

Love it!!  :)

Happy Friday, Moms!  One less Friday to count now> Only 3 between us and hugging our soon to be Sailors!  Now THAT makes me happy.  I received another letter on Wednesday this week. He has been sick- sounds like he finally caught the Ricky crud that was going around. Was feeling pretty bad last weekend. Sounds like he's still staying positive, though. He is anxious to head to South Carolina for Nuke A School. He said there are 5 other Nukes in his Div (369) so I wondered if any of those moms were in this group?  We ordered our PIR ribbons from PIRgifts.com (Craig did an awesome job on my older son's ribbons, and the Challenge coin for his ship).  11/6 will be here before we know it.
We are staying at Candlewood Suites.  Very nice, and affordable compared to others in the area.  We need a private bedroom, and there is also a kitchenette & living area with sleeper sofa. We were happy there last time, and very close to the base.  My oldest son is in Great Lakes (still) for A school- so the idea of having both my boys together for the first time in months has me over the moon.  My husband, daughter and I are bringing our SR's girlfriend with us.  He wants her there, so we agreed.  This means his brother won't be on his list for PIR though and we are not happy with this. My Sailor says it's fine- he can watch from the Chapel and meet us right after.  I just have a problem with it, but it will work out in the long run.  Since my SR flies out to Goose Creek, we won't have much time with him- hope to stay the rest of the weekend to hang with the Sailor in A school since he will have liberty.  He and his brother's girlfriend aren't the best of friends, though, so this will be interesting !  Have a great weekend all, and fingers crossed for phone calls .  I saw a couple of moms on FB mention their letters and they were told they expected to get to call home Saturday.  I sure hope so.

Happy Friday :)  It's been a busy one, as I am just getting on here now!  It's getting SO exciting, we are more than halfway there!

So I have heard ribbons mentioned, but I have no idea where any info is about them.  Is there a link you could show me or something?  Or could you explain more about them to me?  From your post, it seems like something I need to order...?

I'm excited for you that you get to have your 2 boys together!  That's my favorite thing, having our whole family together :)  It gets tougher & tougher when they're older, and in college/boot camp/etc!  Good luck with the girlfriend/other son situation!  Yikes!  Sounds like you will definitely have an interesting weekend :)  Sorry you don't get your other son there at PIR... I would want that too :)  Very selfless of you to bring his girlfriend since that's what he wants :)

Well, my son is a CTN, so he's not one of the 5 nukes in 369...:)

Have a great weekend!

Mommacnavy:  I do not navigate this site very well, so terribly sorry for not answering you before.
I ordered ribbons (for meet and greet and PIR) as well as the USS COnstitution challenge coin from PIRgifts.com.  Craig Maroney (who manages the DEP site and several FB group pages) also does the ribbons and coins.  They turned out great before!

Thanks Nuke&SnipesMom... so are the ribbons something we the family are supposed to wear?  I'm not sure if I will be able to get one on my husband, lol.  I stopped by an Army/Navy store yesterday and they had a standard Navy coin that I got, but I think I will order the USS Constitution one.  Did you just get that one, or the RTC one also?

i got the ribbons from PIRgifts.com (Craig - an admin on here) runs that site and does the ribbons & coins. He also runs the DEP site for Deppers.

It is NOT a must, just something I wanted to get to wear to meet and greet and to PIR.  The ship coin for USS Constitution is pretty awesome. I will try to post pics of both later....the ribbons look like the neck ties they wear ;)
