N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Last names are what they use in BC for each other. They won't even know each other's first names that well at all!

Comment by KTP (Kim) on October 13, 2015 at 3:03pm

all he gives me are last names and I told him the rules, so this is going to be great to figure out who they all are !! can't wait to meet on Thursday too !  and no sailors left behind I told him ! we have room in the car for one, wish it was bigger, I know some cant make it there and I would like to include their boy/girl in our group. He told me he would check  Kyle and Kyle and Dom and Curtis, and Christian are the ones I know off the top of my head.

My Kyle is friends with your Kyle, Kimmyp.  He asked me if I was on line with the Navy Moms.  He thought that was great.  I guess our SR's are aware of us sharing with each other.

Comment by debi62 on October 13, 2015 at 1:27pm

Yes Kimmyp, the boys are together!!! Ok well our division 349 did not win the CC on sat. But I will NOT be the 1 to say who did :) Yes we will be receiving calls Dom stated today and 2mrw. They are all upbeat and excited Dom said for Friday. He said everyone really missed "home" I hate to say it but...I was sure glad to hear that!!

Comment by KTP (Kim) on October 13, 2015 at 12:11pm

Got a call from the boy 349 yesterday also, so up beat and eating fast food I can't believe it he never touched it at home, he must be starving.  He gets another call tomorrow and Thursday, man this is awesome, Dom is in with Kyle !!!

Comment by diannep on October 13, 2015 at 8:20am

Correct, garden gal.  They march in with their performing teams.  You need to be there early anyway....doors to PIR Hall open by 7, but gate opens at 6:30.  Plan to be there at 6:30. Don't remember if they come in through the big doors, but don't think so.  At least, not back when my son was there.  Just get there early and be surprised!

Good Morning All !

Not sure which divisions will be calling today as sailors, but all remaining divisions need to have phones ready this afternoon.   I thought 949 would be calling today, since 900 divisions often go on Mon nights, even with a holiday like yesterday, but was told by another mom that that isn't true for this PIR group.  So 349-352 and 949 families....have phones close and post when you hear from your new sailors, including your division number!  Either 2 divisions went through last night or 3.

Comment by garden gal on October 13, 2015 at 12:08am

This mainly applies to div 949, but I put it here so the admins might see it & maybe have the answer.  I was talking to my son today & I mentioned that I will love seeing him perform but I was a little sad I wouldn't be seeing him march in with the other divisions.  He said they do march in, but much earlier so if we got there really early we would see them.  I forgot to ask if they come in the big doors or not.  Does anyone know?

Okay, on a real computer.

It was bugging me so I found it.

The 1.5 mile run remains the Navy standard.

The swim is up to the CO's discretion AND there of course have to be facilities available. There are other possible cardios again CO discretion and facilities available.

Think about it though...the running is the easiest for the Commands to facilitate. Equipment, time and instructor-wise.

So, it's best to keep up the running.
