What a day! So frustrated I need to vent and need prayers for my 18 yo daughter. She graduated A school on the 10th and went to her duty station without taking leave because she was told by doing this she could probably get Christmas leave for a cruise we planned before she enlisted. She arrived at her station on the 11th, she was put in student housing and She was told school started in Feb. But then started her the next day. She could not get Leave as she would be in school so told no. She was disappointed but knew it was a gamble. Today she received a call from her squadron. They asked where she was as she was supposed to sign in today. She told them she had been there 2 weeks. After checking things out it was found that she was supposed to have been sent to her squadron and started school in Feb. And taken Christmas leave. But, the person who signed her in made an error. they will not let her drop and go in Feb. or even join the class the second week so she is stuck there due to the other persons error. she is very upset and depressed. On top of the above difficulties I have a 19 yo daughter who enlisted last week with the plans to leave in March. They called today and ask if she would like to leave in January in an advanced training for her rate. She is debating since now her sister plans to come in February (they are very close).

Hi everyone, haven't posted in a while.   My younger girls keep me busy!

Anna, I sure hope that knee starts to feel better soon.  Is your son at his new DS yet?  How are your girls?  And what of your other son, any job prospects for him?

Blondie, bet you are loving every second you get with your sailor.  =)

JayDee, nice to see you on the Nuke moms.  Enjoy those hugs, and I hope you get to see some of  Charleston.  It is a neat place.  Lots of Buckeyes there, lol.

Sherblond, We live in Portage county.  :-)  Love those covered bridges up in your neck of the woods!

For you new moms, welcome, and hang on.  The Navy is a ride, that is for sure.  I have had to learn how to roll with things.  Not my inherent style, to be sure, but I am learning!

My MM/ELT will be home tomorrow!!  :-)   She drove down from NY to her brother's apartment  and they are traveling together from there.  7 of our 8 kiddos will be home for the holiday, so I will take it and be very happy.  The only one missing is our ET, who is stationed elsewhere.  We will miss him terribly, but that is one of those "roll with it" moments.

I am so thankful for all of you on the N4Ms pages.  You often provide hope and inspiration, especially on days when I really miss my sailors.  Navy Mom hugs to all of you.  Happy Thanksgiving!

Anna I wish your knee was doing better! When do you see the doctor again?

Sailor is in my hotel room laying across the end of my bed chatting with her dad. Love it!

Good evening everyone!!  Sorry I've been MIA lately but been busy getting a few things done.  Still having a hard time doing much because my knee will get so sore and stiff and then I have to elevate and ice it.  I'm getting real tired of this injury and would really like to get healed!!!!!  I don't make a good patient!!

Oleander,

So glad you had a wonderful visit with your daughter!!!  San Diego is one of my favorite places!!  That's where I was stationed many moons ago!!!

JayDee,

By the time I post this you are probably on your way!!  Safe travels friend and be sure to let us know all about it when you get back!!!  Enjoy every minute with your girl!!!!

Amjaie,

I am so glad your daughter is home for the next couple weeks. Enjoy your time with her.  If you read my post above, I love San Diego!! She should have a good time there.  And then Hawaii!!  That is another favorite!!  My son and his family just transferred there!!  I wish I could go visit but airline tickets are so expensive!!!  I hope she enjoys her ship and the places she will go!!!

Sherblond,

I sent you a little message but I do want to say Welcome!!!  I'm so glad you dropped in and said Hi.  When I looked at your profile page I see you are from Ashtabula!!!  I was born and raised in Chardon!!  Love to talk to another buckeye!!!!

Guinness77,

Sent you a welcome message as well!!  Is your daughter and Sherblond's daughter in the same ship/div?  It is so much more reassuring to go through the bootcamp journey with other Moms!!!

Blondie,

Have a wonderful visit with your girl and her hubby!!!  Enjoy every minute!!
