Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 051 and 052

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Super Cute Bunny Waving

Hello! My son reached BC on 11/9 at 10pm. I have received his box and form letter and just sent all the letters I have written to him so far today. I am hoping that I get a letter and/or call soon. I pray Ship 12 Divisions 051 and 052 will be strong, courageous, peaceful and successful.

My son arrived 11/9/15 and is in Div 052... Good luck to all recruits and all of you mama's!!

I just realized I've been reading a lot of your other posts. I didn't realize our kids were in the same division. Have you received any real mail yet?

Hoping all of you other mamas are hanging in there! It was exciting getting the form letter but I am really wanting to hear from my boy in his own writing!

I am looking forward to a letter from my daughter too!  She is in division 052, I got my form letter 5 days ago, so I keep hoping for some real mail soon.  She arrived 11/5.

My son is also in Div 052. He arrived 11/9. We still haven't gotten a call :( the day is not over yet but I'm a little down not having him home today.

I read somewhere that Thanksgiving day is not a good day for them to call (there are over 5000 recruits at boot camp).  But I heard that some of the divisions are getting to call on Saturday.  My daughter arrived 11/5....I guess that explains why it took her so long to get into a division if she has people in her division that came later.  The girls got to call Tuesday....so hopefully your boy will be calling you soon!  I'm feeling a little down that now I received my call and probably won't hear anything until after Christmas!  Happy Thanksgiving, take some time to write some letters tonight, that will help you feel closer to him :)

Any ship 12 div 52 moms get their box yet? I received the PIR/pre-printed letter but nothing else.  I see other ships families are getting phone calls and actual letters - am so jealous :)

My daughter is Ship 12 Div 052. I received the box pretty quickly but I read somewhere that if they don't have a lot to send back they don't send anything.  They have the option to donate the clothes they are wearing.  Did your sailor take a lot?  My daughter sent back the clothes she had on, the bag she was carrying on the plane, and her cell phone.  There was nothing else in the box (even though she told her sister she wrote us a letter on the plane and to look for it.....it wasn't in there).  Also it came Fed Ex and my guy left it on the porch, will your Fed Ex do that?  We got our box on the 10th and the form a week later.

I've been jealous of all the phone calls too!  I'm praying for Thursday, it will be exactly 3 weeks (which is what we expected) AND Thanksgiving so it seems like a no brainer.  Ive been anticipating a real letter but my husband thinks this weekend was their first chance to write.  So maybe Wednesday.  Don't fret, we are in the same boat! I'm glad to connect with some mom's in the same division!

Thanks for your reply mckmom!

My son had the same thing - clothes, book, cell phone, minimal stuff.  He was planning on mailing it to me.  I went out of town right after he left so am wondering if something happened to the package.  My neighbor was checking my mail for me.  I will contact fed ex tomorrow. I was trying to be patient but from what I read the packages were coming fairly quickly.

I hadn't thought of the timing for the phone call - a Thanksgiving call would be great!

I asked my husband and he said the FedEx called him and he signed for it for us.  I didn't know that part.  So if it needed to be signed for they wouldn't have just left it.  (benefits of living in a small town).  Have you received a phone call yet?  We got ours yesterday, we got to talk for about 40 minutes!  We all bawled like babies the first 5 minutes or so, I couldn't even get any words out!  Once we all calmed down we had a great talk!  Probably won't hear from them again until Christmas time :(
