Hi, my son's PIR 12/04/15 I can't wait to see him. I'm counting down the days. Been writing to him almost everyday. We got a call from him 2 weeks ago, I'm wondering when the next one would be.

Hi Proud Mama! My son is also in ship 02 Div 904!
We missed our 1st call in late October but our son was able to call us on Sunday... Can you say 'HAPPY' family? We were so bummed to miss that first call, I beat myself up about it but talking to him on Sunday for almost an hour made it so much better! I've also been writing on a regular basis but nothing beats hearing your recruit's voice... I'm sure your son will call soon if he hasn't already-We're almost there! December is right around the corner!my
My son mentioned that he's training to be part of the honor guard, hopeful he can perform at his own graduation! Can't wait to see all of the recruits at PIR!
Hi Mybigson, oh boy that first phone call was so exciting! I cried happy tears hearing his voice. The second phone call I had a feeling he was going to call that day. I'm guessing/ hoping another call 2 weeks from that 2nd call. I'm so excited in less than 30 days we would be able to see our son. We write to him everyday. He mentioned that getting letters help ease things up.
That's exciting that your son to be part of honor guard. Can't wait!

Proudmama, check your My Page.

Hello, do you happen to know the website were family members can watch live stream?

The RTC will stream PIR live at http://www.livestream.com/usnavyrtc and http://navylive.dodlive.mil/ beginning at 8:45 am CST on the day of PIR.

Awww, I'm so glad to hear that you also talked with your son and that he is doing well also. My son mentioned that getting mail is something he looked forward to and helped him to stay in touch with the outside world and feel connected to his family back here in New York. I'm really glad to be able to communicate with another parent from his Division! Makes me feel less alone, if you know what I mean... Counting down the days until we can see our boys! Woohoo!
Got our 3rd phone call today, so happy to hear his voice. He mentioned that they took pictures, they got their id. He sounded really excited and proud. Hope you got to talk to your son today.
Hi proudmama!
Unfortunately I didn't get to talk to my son yesterday, I'm pretty sure I didn't miss his call since I had my phone with me the whole time, hopefully we'll hear from him soon... I'm glad that you spoke to son however, at least I now have an idea of what my son is also doing, getting id's and pictures taken... Thank you for that information! The time is getting closer until we can see our boys again- I cannot wait!
Are you going to the meet & greet?
My son graduates on nov 24 counting down the days !

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I hope all that were able to make it to Great Lakes enjoyed their time with their SR! We unfortunately could not make it to be with our son but we are super excited to see him at PIR next week! We also learned that he and his division were adopted by a local charity and he not only enjoyed being off base and the food but he also got to send us a quick message online and then called us as well so we got to talk to him for a good 15 minutes! He sounded great and I. Really good spirits so that really just warned our hearts! He talked to everyone here for Thanksgiving dinner including his brother, dad, aunts, uncles and grandparents... Best thanksgiving gift ever! He said he excited to see us next week... I hope you all got to talk to your sailors... My son said he still has not done battlestations but is looking forward to completing that final task, he's in Division 904 and in ship staff/ honor guard detail. Good luck to our SR's, have a great night everyone!o
