Hi all, hope you all have a good thanksgiving. I received a quick email, Nov 26, I was suprized she got a chance to write, as she said their would be no communications. Keep your heads up mommas, they will write to you as soon as they can. I'm preparing custom forms right now we did up 28 stockings for her unit, all my kids teachers have been writing letters to them and drawing pictures to send, along with a bunch of candy and activity pads and candy! They all love just the little things :) ok back to work needed a little break. Take care all

Nokie,  yes this is normal.  They work long hours and at times they are in a blackout phase where communications are stopped.  We are all here, just keep busy.  Who isn't busy at this time of year LOL!

Hi everyone, I haven't heard from my son in about a week. Send his Christmas package out yesterday. Prayers he gets it. I send another one out a week before they left but as of last week nothing . Hopefully mail will catch up with them.

Hi Nokie7 and welcome to the group! As you can see, many of us haven't heard anything so it seems that they are in a blackout phase. I'm sure we will hear something when possible.  In the meantime, stay busy and we are here for support!

Ok I thought BoomMom was close but Imnadelady, you and I are in the same County!  The 5 years our son has been in I've not had anyone, let alone 2, Navy for Mom's moms so close! So cool. Your cookies sound great! Lovely day today, huh?

BoomMom and jbird, I'm from the Finger Lakes region.  Saw a couple pics http://www.navy.mil/local/cvn75  on the Truman that they were served a Thanksgiving Dinner on the mess deck.  No news here either, sometimes they black out their communications.  Made a new cookie to ship my son, but there is no way.  Great cookie, but buttery and flaky. One can barely get it to one's own mouth, let alone ship it across the big pond.  Mailing his Christmas package Dec 1st, hoping it gets to him in time.  One never knows!

jbird.  I'm in upstate as well (Buffalo area).

No communication in almost a week directly from our son.  Just finished his cookies to get a box out Monday.  No clue if he ever got the last one.  Have a great day, ladies.
