Haha! Love the shower curtain idea! We have a globe to look at but I think I finally got rid of the big wall mounted map we had. l'm looking forward to hearing from our son eventually. If any of you live in the upper midwest let me know. Always willing to meet fellow Navy folks, especially those from the same ship!

BoomMom, that's funny a world map shower curtain.  My son gave me an aged looking world map for Christmas just before he left home 5 yrs ago.  It is on the living room wall, anxiously awaiting where we get to put next red dot.  He isn't passing anywhere he has been before, so they will all be new;.  :)    Going to a tree lighting ceremony for the Blue Star Mothers here in a little bit.  Then it is football Sunday party time.

That's super lmnadelady.  Any glimpse is a good one. It was awesome getting a short call from our son last night.  I'm tracking their movements (what I can decipher by his general comments of "just went past somewhere I've been before" and I know where that is) on my World Map Shower Curtain.  Kind of fun but I'm running out of hot water :)  Happy Sunday all.

Ah just got an update and couple photos from my son's Squadron VAW117.  Even a glimpse of my son.  Their communications is opening up.

Hi all, this is my first time posting to the group, but my husband is on the Truman.

I just got a quick call from him and wanted to let you know -- he said communications have been blacked out almost all week, but that they got phone back this evening and are hoping internet will be back online soon. Hang in there!

Happy Saturday Navy Moms.  I was feeling blue, anxious about missing my son but it seems a lot of us are in this boat together.  That sure helps.  Reading all the posts about cookies has me motivated to get busy making something for my next care package, too.  Thanks for being there Ladies.

Hi to everyone, welcome Nokie and everyone new here.

Normal to feel like you do? absolutely! If you weren't so far away I'd hire you to clean my house top to bottom!

I'm sure your sailor is doing just fine, kept very busy though. Not hearing anything for a week, and longer, is completely normal. Like Tiffany, you  may receive a random email and others may not. Hang in there, he'll  catch up with you when he can. We all got your back here.
