I got a nice surprise today, a call from my sailor! He sounds so upbeat! That sure makes mom happy! He said he needs Velcro. He says everyone velcro's everything up, like his phone on the wall in his rack.  He says he needs organizers for his locker too. We had Christmas here before he left, but I sent a fun stocking.  Found a lot of cool stuff at the container store, and sent some video games too. Now I need to go get me one of those maps you all are talking about!  Have a great day all!

I see we've picked up a # of new members. Welcome to all of you!

suzyq - I guess it's more of a tracking after the fact lol! Plus we have a good idea of the direction they are heading based on previous deployments (mine wasn't on them but the info is out there!).  When we visited in October sailor was able to give us some general info too.....It's nice to see on the map where they will/have be(en)!

Thanks Tricia - yes I think I'll be guestimating too!

Thanks Lorabelllee - hubby & sailor are huge Packer fans.  College son is a Charger fan....Hubby likes to tell everyone he meets how he is "from" Wisconsin.  Funny thing is he was born there & his family moved to CA when he was only 6 weeks old! (His dad was in the Navy in the Sea of Japan when he was born.)  He is a true cheesehead - Packer shareholder too!

B'sNukeMom...when you say you're tracking the Truman on the map...how do you know where it is?

Comment by Tricia51 on November 30, 2015 at 1:45pm

B'sNukeMoM, I kept it general, for example, on one line I put Pringles Chips (they were the single serve), on the quantity I put 6, on the weight I added the oz. of each & put that total, & I guestimated the price (I know I misspelled estimated, that's me being funny). I not very good at explaining but I hope you get an idea.

B's mom has handsome men! cute mommy too!

welcome new moms!

someone asked about Christmas gifts- I'm sending mine an x box game. Last time he didn't have it and requested homemade baked goods (cookies, freshly baked and sent right out of the freezer). Of course I saved other gifts for when he returned. Space can be an issue on board. Does your son like any particular reading material? hand held games?

Awesome pic B'sNukeMom! Love the Packer jersey!  No news yet from son but hoping soon. I sent an email to the treasurer for the FRG so I am still hoping I will be able to get the Christmas ornament. Today is cleanup after the break and then I'll work on Christmas stuff. Have a great day everyone!

Thanks Tricia!

So when you went to the post office you already had your customs form filled out?  Were you real specific or did you keep it general?  ie: "snacks, personal hygiene, books".  I know someone else had said to keep it general....& what about applying a value - I buy lots of the chicken/tuna/cracker packs at the dollar store cuz my son likes those.  I'm just trying to figure out if you have to list each item & a value.....

B'sNukeMoM, Nice family picture, & I went to the post office to send my package.  For myself, its too complicated for me to understand how to do it online.  Also, love your daily picture posts.

Here's our Thanksgiving picture this year.  4th one without our Sailor.  I was feeling a little sad but leave it to college son to put things in perspective.  He reminded me "don't forget you've had the last 22 with him mom!".  Ok, point taken ;-)
