Awww thats wonderful JGMom! I can't wait to get a call from my son. I need to remind my son to do the same..he said he would but he will forget! Yes...it's a great site for information!
I had another call tonight from my Sailor. Sounds like all is well and he is doing great! So good to hear from him twice in one day. I asked him to please get my on mailing list he said he will. Also get me his box # etc. I appreciate all the info on this site from everyone.
I've been burning mine all week!
It was a Navy Times story on facebook. Looks like you can find it on the Navy Times on line.
Bernapet what Navy site are you looking at?
I bought some heavy duty velco at Joann's today, I think it will do the trick for my sailor, sending it out tomorrow. I'm sending a lot, so I am sure he will share. I also bought some sticky hooks for his locker he requested. The article on the Navy site tonight saying that the Truman was heading to the Persian Gulf kinda put me in a bummer mood. Let's keep all those amazing Navy mom prayers going strong!!
Thank you Imnadelady I appreciate the thought. I got an email this afternoon from my sailor and he said he hoped to speak to us soon. Need to get working on his Christmas box and get it sent! Pleased that the sailors go so much mail...I guess I should do some real writing too!
Heard from my son today. He said the CNO and MCPON (I'll let you look them up) came on board for Thanksgiving dinner. The lines was really long for food, so he and some buds decided to just buy some snacks from the ship store meanwhile discovered everyone was waiting in the mainlines and left the ice cream, turkey and shrimp self serve bar empty. Needless to say they had a decent Thanksgiving meal without having to wait in line. That's my boy!!! :)
Lorabelle, wishing a year of blessings in 2016 .
B'sNukeMoM had to laugh at your artistic comment. My standing comment is I'm not creative, but constructive. LOL!
too tall Joan I too did the Customs form at the Post Office. They were very helpful, the form is shorter and they did not require the individual weights. Brought home extra ones and I can fill them out at home. I've used the online one before, but heck you make a mistake and lost all I had entered, wasn't worth the stress for me. And I work on computers all day long.
Mailed my Christmas package today, will see how long it takes. Just a heads up if you are sending gift cards, make sure you write the numbers down. The USPO insurance does not cover them.
