Gail what I did was put a picture on a word document on my computer then print it out and hand write a message. That way the picture doesn't get separated from the letter and its not bulky. Bulkiness draws unwanted attention.

Hi Gail, I included any pictures on the same paper that I printed my letters on and local news articles. I printed out sports information and other local info from the Internet. When I discovered that my recruit was sharing the news articles I started separating the personal information from the public news. If your daughter follows her local high school sports or other activities send her the information. Be careful to not send controversial news articles stay upbeat about everything. They have enough stress during their time in boot camp. The last page in our American Legion magazine is jokes so I sent her all the comedy I could. She still requests the joke page.

Read, read, read All the questions you have are the same that I had. Continue asking your questions. I love them. Soon you will be the one with the answers.

Hello Gail,

Once you get that form letter with her address,  send all the letters you can.  They live for mail call.  Just make sure you use plain white envelopes and print pictures on the paper you are writing her letter on.  You don't want to mail her anything that will bring attention to her. No goodies or bully envelopes.

Jean,

Sounds like a good time with Grandma coming up!

Hi Everyone,
Jean so happy you get Aurura! How fun. Sure wish my girl lived closer, would love to babysit my little JJ.

Hope everyone is doing well. Things are going ok here. Just hot today 80, and going to be warmer tomorrow. I was enjoying our winter, hope it comes back soon.

Hi Gail, yes you can send cards and pictures, once they are allowed mail. I sent my girl pictures, and started writing her right away. I numbered the letters, this way she could read then in order for the first mail call.

Hi Anna, my neck of the woods is going well. Begin very busy with work and Aurura. I get to babysit her on Presidents day. Her day care is closed that day. It will be my last holiday until Memorial day.

JayDee,

Thank you,  I will watch out!  Last time I drove a UHaul across country I was literally run off the road by a big truck.  Had to hit the shoulder,  in a construction zone!  I'll be much more on the lookout this time!!!!

Marilyn,

It's amazing what we can do on our phones now!  I just learned how to put my music on my phone of two years so I'll have something to listen to on my trip!!!!

Thank you everyone for your ideals.  And wonderful advice on giving out my daughter address. I also realized I can use my Microphone on the notes app.of my Iphone to record things to my daughter and then print it out. Wow how much time was saved. now I need to figure out how to do the same on my computer. You Tube. lol
