Good morning ladies! I'm on a count down - 13 more days until I see my sailor!
Thank you for your responses! She read them all. Had her first meeting today at the recruiters. Very excited again and feeling much better. She actually wants to move up her ship date, don't think it's possible though and I'm certainly not going to encourage that!!!! The time is going to fly by as it is!!
Morning everyone!
So glad you saw your ortho and will get some relief, JayDee!
Have a great day everyone!
Good afternoon. We're having a fun day here in the Ohio Valley. Over the last week we've had 60 degree temps, rain and today it's snowing again! Yes, I love the snow!
Oleander, the stuffed jalapeno's turned out pretty good. Took them to a party and they got high marks. When we got home though my whole house smelled like them. Didn't bother me, but my husband doesn't care for them much. Thank heavens for candles.
I saw my ortho today and got another cortisone shot in my knee. We agreed that the huge fall I took after the last one probably negated any good it did. She did tell me that after this shot wears off it's time for an MRI so she can actually fix the problem instead of just treating the symptoms.
Hope all of you are having a great day!
Morning!
Yep Bchgrl68 - my daughter did too: bc, after A School and before reporting to her ship, it's happened a couple of times but once she worked through her feelings realized she was happy with her decision. I think it's just part of the process. Her PIR was in May, she reported to her ship in August.
JayDee- so happy to know you are (were?) on the mend! You're that young man's hero I'm guessing. Let us know how the stuffed jalapenos turned out. It was Game Day Chili at my house.
Have a good day everyone!
Yes Bchgrl68 it is normal to have second, third and even fourth thoughts especially as the day gets closer for them to ship out. My daughter was in DEP for a year. Her father and I are both retired military. I remember my second night in boot camp thinking what the H did I get myself into. It gets better as the time goes on for most of them, hopefully this is what she really want to do.
Okay, all. My daughter wants to know if any of your daughters had second thoughts a few weeks after signing up? She has talked to her dad who is a Marine veteran and that helped, but she still wants to know if your daughters have had similar experiences.
Happy Super Bowl Sunday everyone!
Hi Gail, welcome! I did the same thing as JayDee, attached or copied pictures to a word document, then printed it out on plain white paper and hand wrote the letters.. She loved pictures of her dogs and horses, funny news or motivational sayings. One of her favorites was a letter "written by her puppy" that included a paw print as signature. You can have a lot of fun with it -- just don't include glitter, stickers on the envelopes, etc.
Travel safe Anna!
JayDee, how's your knee?
We're getting your warm weather now too Catsmom. I'm with you, more cool weather before the heat arrives!
Have fun next week with Aurora Jean!
