Thank you Lorraine! I told my son today that I have been praying for him, my mom & her 2 bible study groups, and my great-aunt and uncle>I told him to discuss this situation with God before, during and after each attempt> with this kind of power behind him, he can't go wrong, :)

Good morning, nwtrax yes my son passed his swim on friday, your son will pass his run. Keep on encouraging him. From what I read they get tested M-W-F. Sammy1990 has experienced in the fit div, she will be able to tell you how long the recruits stay in fit.once the recruits past PFA,they do BS then they go to THU, waiting clearance and flight arrangement then they get ship out to A school. I will continue to pray for your son, our Lord will give him the push, and carry him through.when the prayers goes up the blessings comes down. We will stay prayerful.

Hello all!

I just found this group to join as my son is in FIT. First of all if Lorraine is reading this, I see your son has passed and will be moving forward out of FIT. Do you know when he will be sent to A school? I am so happy for you and him! All the prayers worked from all of us parents of the 2/5/16 TG PIR. I saw all the comments from everyone before PIR, it sounds like all went well for all involved :)

My son called us this morning, and said he had 10 min to talk He said that he has up to 10 tries to pass his running time on his PFA, & today he also told us he is having trouble with push ups too! My husband and I were surprised at that statement because it's the first we've heard of it from him. Not that we get to talk to him often, lol..My husband wasn't sure what to think about the push ups remark, because he was doing 25-30 before leaving for BC.

He said he's 2 min over his allowable time for running & his left knee was really hurting after his last try (I don't know when that was I forgot to ask). I asked him if he could see about getting inserts for his shoes (since he had to send his home at the beginning of BC) and he said he has to go to medical for that and 95% of people don't get them. Does anyone know how accurate his info is? I asked him if he had a training buddy to help him push himself to pass the running (& push ups?) He said they aren't allowed, so no. But, I have read other information on this site that stated they are given mentors to help them pass their PFA's. I don't know what to believe now. Anyone else have experience with this??

We asked how long he has to try to pass and he didn't know the timeframe just that he has 10 tries, then if he still can't pass it he will be separated from the Navy w/a general discharge or he will be sent home and can re-go thru BC in 6 mo. My husband and I did our darndest to pump him up because his confidence was not showing up in our conversation. We said he HAS to pass, he doesn't want all he's been thru until now to be lost over 2 min run time. My husband spent 8 yrs in the Marines. He also gave him a pep talk about what his capabilities were going into and coming out of BC. I feel so helpless, but am trying hard to not be a hover parent either.

actually he should exercise so he can easily pass the pfa in a school. (run and push ups). they test a number of times. he wants to pass those right away. after a school, in the fleet, they can usually test via the bike which my son finds easier. tell him this in a letter for me.... lol. "you may be bored in hold, but it's just the beginning of the hurry up and wait routine so pull up a chair and get used to it! AND you're getting paid to be bored! fun times will make up for the boring times". (I'm retired af.... 30 years. I know waiting well! lol : o)

He said he is ok, they do nothing but waiting for BS. I told him when the other recruits go to swim and run do some push up and sit up to maintain his strength for BS
