My son began OCS one week ago on January 24th, 2016. Will someone be posting pictures of this new class? My son thought class number is 16-50. He arrived in Newport during Storm Jonas. The last communication with us he said someone from the base was coming to pick him up. . .
Are letters from us okay?

Calamityjane if you go to facebook and search officer training command newport there you can find pictures that they post. they usually post on tuesday are least the did when my son was there last year. there will most likely be a fb page just for the class too for love one to connect. YES send letters plain white envelopes do not send anything like cookies or until week 9 which is known as candio week.   In a few weeks he will be able to email you when they move out of the indoc phases and at that time they can use the phone with a phone card to call home. we received are first call july 4th and he passed RLP ( room, locker and personal inspection) this is a huge first huddle for them.  Not sure about the class number usually it is somelike 08-16 meaning 8th class of 2016 so when looking at the newport pg just look for the pictures of guys and girls getting their uniforms

Thank you!
I believe your son's class number would be 09-16. I have not seen a Facebook page yet for that class. Search on Facebook for Officer Training Command, like their page on FB. This is where you will find pictures for each class. Read other comments on this group, there will be a link for class 08 on FB. Find that page on FB and it will give you an idea of what your loved one will be doing. Good luck!
Thank you!

There is a facebook page www.facebook.com/OTCNewport/ that will update photo's of each class at OCS.  Best of luck to your LO (loved one) It is quite the journey for you and your LO!!!
