Hi Moms, happy momma here. AZ Sailor has been emailing me pretty heavily towards my bedtime, so I'm getting a lot of joy before sleeping. Not sure where they are but no rumblings from land. I'm at peace! Hope you are too.

I was glad to talk to my son on Valentine's Day.  I have only talked to him one other time since they left and that was last month.  It made my day. :)

Sarahc3 - I really appreciate your response! I was beginning to wonder if my message was even received? I ended up speaking with an Ombudsman; needed an answer sooner than later. Thank you though.

Hi all - Happy Monday!

My son made it back from Paris - he had a fantastic time.  Says he can't wait to go back when he has more time to spend there.  Now he's working on his college apps.  He texted me this morning - was filling out his FAFSA & had questions.  Guess he still needs his momma after all lol  ;-)

I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day <3  We're still enjoying our 80+ weather here in SoCal (at least for a few more days!).

I continue to keep all the Truman sailor's in my prayers.  You are one day closer....

@Laurie, the extension is automatic, but they still have to notify the IRS that they're overseas in a combat zone. This TurboTax page is helpful:

I wonder if they also have someone on board to provide guidance to our sailors on this...they are all in the same boat, after all (no pun intended ;))!

Good Morning, does anyone know how our sailors go about requesting an extension for filing taxes? Thank you.
