Hello Ladies!!  Sorry I've been gone for a while.  My surgery was successful but I don't know if I'm having a reaction to the meds they put me on, if I came down with a bug, or if it just took longer to recover than I expected!!  I think I'm on the mend tho so now I just have to try to catch up!!

Steph's Mom,

So glad you got to hear from your girl!!!  Two more weeks - how exciting!!

Cheryl,

Welcome!!  I sent you a personal welcome on your profile page!!  I know August sounds like it's a long way away, but trust me, experience has shown that it will fly by when you don't want it to.  And then the time it takes to hear from her will drag on like FOREVER!!!!!

Oleander,

That sounds like a wonderful birthday trip for your husband!!!  (And you!!)  Thanks for having one for me!!  Anniversary was awesome.  Rode bikes around St Augustine and dinner at a wonderful place overlooking the water!  (And BIG boats!!)

mysailormeg,

Won't be long now!!  I don't know if I've ever heard that someone did not pass BS since it's a whole ship doing it together.  JayDee can probably share if this is still the same.  You will be leaving for PIR soon, hope you have a wonderful experience, and please share when you get back!!!

JayDee,

When your daughter did BS did she do it with her whole ship or whole division.  For those others who went later in the day, were they in different divisions?

Tricia,

I hope it does go quickly for you but I know it sure didn't for me!!  Seems like it took forever to hear from my girl.  And I didn't have N4Ms until after she finished A school.  It just started after her PIR!!!  I'm sure glad it's around now!!!!  I just saw where you also have a son serving!!  I also found it to be quite different when my first daughter enlisted.  Even tho I'm a Navy vet myself it's still just so different when our daughters go in!!!

Morning all!

mysailormeg you can almost hold your breath that long! So VERY exciting!!!! Did you see the CNN special report on Battle Stations 21? It'll be the final test. I loved watching it, just one more thing that made me feel connected to her during her final hours at bc.

Tricia, I'd love to tell you it will fly by but in my experience that's not the case. However, we'll be here to hold you up and lend support along the way. We're all in this together.

Pouring rain here today. My husband couldn't even play golf -- and almost nothing stops golf. Guess he'll have to get a few things done around here instead. hehehehe

Mysailormeg - remember they don't all go through battle stations on the same day. Fortunately my daughter did it the first night so I got an early call. I know some of the moms who's kids went through later in the week were more anxious after we started reporting in. Make sure you check your PIR group. They're pretty good about posting when a division has Finished.

I'm sure she'll do fine. We have amazing daughters who can do incredible things!

This time next week, I will be in Chicago!!!  Waiting for my "I'm a sailor call"....hope that comes soon.  I'm wondering if this is the one case where no news is not good news?  Her last letter was so positive and it sounded like she was doing really well.  Breathe and pray.  And Zumba!  Heading out soon.  Have a great day every one.  Tricia - when she's gone time won't go by nearly as fast!  But it helped me to write every day, cry when I had no choice and stay busy!  I lived for Thursday (mail day!)  All the best!

Happy Friday!

Lol, as does mine JayDee. When I seen my sailor in her dress whites after graduation she ate very carefully and watched everything around her so she didn't get dirty. It rained alittle that day so she did get dirty water drops on the bottom back part of her pants. She was alittle disappointed because of all the precautions she took all day but I was impressed she managed to stay clean all day, I couldn't do it, lol. Firsts of many things she has conquered, :)

Happy Friday, have a wonderful weekend ladies :)

I've never seen my daughter in her whites but know she dreads them as she is always spilling something on herself.

Steph's Mom, yep, Edwards 19 is right - pretty sure they'll be in their dress whites. My sailor's PIR was May 8th last year and they wore their whites. So exciting - only 2 weeks to go!
