Hello Ladies!  So much has transpired with my sailor since he joined 3 years ago!  He met his now wife/my new daughter-in-law while attending school in Pensacola.  He is stationed in Fallon, NV where one of the Mom's called it the "Oasis in the Desert" - ha!  I have been fortunate to have him within a few hours from home.  Did you ladies here about the crazy couple who went the wrong way on the highway and ended up killing themselves as they drove onto the Naval Base in Lemoore, CA onto the tarmac right into the back of an F18?  Crazy!  Well, that's my scoop and I love hearing about all of your Sailors!

Japan that explains why you haven't seen her in quite a while. My son loved it over there. He was on an aircraft carrier...got to visit some great ports in that part of the world. Without the Navy he would have probably never got to go...experiences of a lifetime!

Joshmom - she is in Japan. I love Skype.  I think of all of those years when moms only had snail-mail.  That must have been so hard.

Hello ladies!

LAND HO!!!!   So BeachBunny your sailor finally decided to take a break from carrier hopping LOL  and a family vacation coming soon...fun times ahead!

Suzan - a happy sailor = a happy momma!!   May I ask where your daughter is stationed?  I apologize for not remembering if you've mentioned it before.  11 months is a long time so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed she gets to come home at the end of the year.  I went 14 months between my sons visits when he was stationed in Japan so I know how hard it is not seeing them but it's easier knowing they're happy and enjoying their life.

My sailor has recently gotten back on his ship...same ship different duty station (on the east coast now).  He had to go underway shortly after arriving so hasn't had much of a chance to check out his surroundings.  He's going to be doing short "underways" all year so his schedule is going to be screwed up for quite some time.  I told him not to make any plans cuz sure enough the Navy will change them LOL

Great to hear from you ladies!  Take care all

Hi BeachBunny!

Glad to hear that your sailor is doing well... and a surprise visit!  How wonderful!

Mine is loving the Navy life.  She stays busy doing what she needs to do.  She's been on land for a bit so we have been able to Skype every week, but now she is about to go back on the boat.  She's looking forward to it, and I'm glad for her.  I just really enjoy hearing from her on a regular basis and it doesn't happen when they're out.

Let us know about your time with him in July!  It's been 11 months since I've seen mine, but she is hoping to visit at the end of the year.  If that doesn't happen, my husband and I will try to get to her sometime next year.
