BeachBunny  I wasn't near the beach( I wish I was) so when he was working I was watching TV or the track was right outside my door. So I was walking and then he would stop by on his lunch brake..

ReneeHum...so glad you had a great visit.Glad to hear Ryan is settling in...what did you do when he was at work? Did you go to the private beach on base?

Didn't know about the pass either bc I usually have my sailor with me to get back on that base, it's easier. Sometimes he'll walk to the gate when am just picking him up so we don't have to go thru the whole car inspection.

I bought my son a crock pot and kitchen items when he got there. He loves to cook. His roommate likes the meals too...lol

The CA "golden" is normal. CA is pretty much a desert. Rain avg is 6-13 inches. After the rains stop, usually in April, the hills naturally grown grass turns brown when it dries out. That's why a really "dry" year causes so many wildfires.

We're heading back then again next month! Can't wait..:)

Hi I had a great time visiting Ryan. I was surprised how brown everything is there. He said 2 months ago it was all green. I'm already planning next years visit. Now that I know you need a pass to get back on base. So if you plan to stay on base you need a pass to get back on. I didn't know this so I had to wait for my son to get off work to get me back on base. LOL  I still had a good time, showed him how to cook some things & made a big pot of sauce so he can freeze and have more meals. I can't believe how much he is growing up & still needs to grow up. LOL   Have a great Holiday weekend all...
