Triple Digits!  We're barely making it to the mid 70's here today and looks like a high in the low 80's for the next several days.  We're having the weirdest summer here so far.  Good news is that it's supposed to storm on Saturday and Sunday so I won't have to mow my lawn.

Big news!  My sailors puppy caught a mole last night in our yard.  I'm not sure who was more surprised the puppy or the mole.  I couldn't find a shovel to finish off the poor little creature so I had to use a handle from a broom that was outside.  As I was standing there I realized that I was playing "Whack a Mole" for real.  Great.  Now I'm sure my neighbors think I'm nuts.

Morning!

The heat is officially here - triple digits as far as I can see in our forecast. I hope everyone is safe with all the flooding & storms across the plains.

Safe travels Anna!

Morning everyone

Hope you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend.

Our sailor has had to delay her leave, all for good reasons tho. A flight deck firefighting class will be held during the week she was to be home, if she misses it she'll lose her place and that's just not a good idea! She's adjusted her dates to the following week, fingers crossed it's approved!

Not many stories yet Anna. She had duty the day after they got back. But she did say they had some pretty challenging system failures out there. In the 1st 24 hours they had 9 that included engine failure, flood, fire, losing radar, you name it! She got some great pics, had a school of dolphins escorting the ship and said she had the best sleep of her life with all the rocking LOL. No seasickness either - always a bonus!

Have a great day all!

Anna, we will be around on that day!
We have one slide. Out first RV had awnings on all windows and it added to the privacy and kept the inside cool. The current RV only has a patio awning and we want awnings on the other windows. I am a bit country and like the windows open whenever possible.

bbcregular,

We get to Boone on June 11th for two days!!!  Will you be around then??  Just out of curiosity why do you want awnings on all the windows?  Does your RV have slides?

Sounds like an exciting adventure awaits you. It will be terrific and I'm jealous! Lol!

Anna
Let me know when you get to Boone, NC. I live about an hour away. We will be in Ellijay, GA June 23 - July 6, then currently do not know if we are coming back home to do some repairs to our house or begin our trip from there. It all depends on getting the RV ready and the house closed in good condition. Putting air activated brakes on the toad and awnings on all the windows of the RV. We need to take extra care of the house gutters since they will not get the usual attention and some tree trimming. We have not decided to take the full plunge to full time RVers but will know at the end of this trip. So exciting and will be close to our sailor for the winter!

bbcregular,

Thanks for helping to pass along the information about the gate passes for military members.  I always use that little benefit when one of my kiddos is leaving!!  Such true words about military life.

I hope you and I meet somewhere along on the journey!!  I think that would be so cool.  Tuesday is our last day in the state of FL since October of last year.  After little stops in GA,  and SC, we're heading for Boone, NC and then on up north all the way to Bar Harbor.

Had a wonderful week with daughter. Time was too short. Love being able to accompany her to the gate at the airport. We were told that gate passes were given for three situations, unaccompanied minor, wheel chair assisted, and military personnel. For those that may not know, you can go to the gate and stay till the plane leaves with a gate pass.
The ride home feels empty. That is the military life, joy, emptiness, then plan for the next meeting. So now I start planning for the trip westward bound. I will keep you posted on my travel plans and hope to meet many of the moms while on the road.

Praying for all our sailors and the moms also.
