I'm a Navy Wife and I created this group back when I was a girlfriend and my now husband had gone to bootcamp. Its funny because i joined this website when they had under 50 members. This website has been sooooo helpful and I met so many people on here that gave great advice. I made this group so that we could all come together and give eachother advice and share ideas. I see that this group is growing more and more by the day, Im happy to see that because so many wives/fiances/and girlfriends are clueless when it comes the military lifestyle. Not knowing what to expect and not knowing about deployments, bootcamp, duty stations, etc. I want this to be the place you all recommend because so many people on this site are knowledgeable and very helpful. Once again thanks for joining my group and i hope you get all the information you need. I dont get to log on as much as i used to but i try my best to get on here. So if u have any questions feel free to make a discussion topic and Im positive that it will get answered if not, inbox me :-) Take Care ♥

Can he just take the 1 they give us once we go get it?
Comment by Anti M on May 31, 2016 at 6:33pm

Mail a certified copy of the birth certificate anyway, and he can see if they accept it.  If they do, it will mean faster benefits for your child.

We're getting married on the 6 of next month but when he gets here we're going so he can sign the birth certificate since he wasn't here when he was born
Comment by Anti M on May 31, 2016 at 3:27pm

Engaged, your sailor must be on the birth certificate as the father to list the child as a dependent if you are not married.   Did you put him on  the certificate?  If you did, he's good to go.

Paige, they do not pursue adultery convictions unless it is detrimental to the Navy, is fraternization with an officer, AND there is 100% proof (I am talking eye witness without even sheets), a video of the sex act, or one of the parties confesses to their chain of command.  Texts and emails are not proof.  If you move away because your spouse is cheating, you can contact their chain of command and let them know he is now a geographic bachelor and doesn't need an apartment anymore.

I have a question If my sailor wants to put our son as a dependent do we half to go get paternity test to show proof so he can be put as a dependent
Comment by Paige on May 31, 2016 at 12:36pm
Thank you @Anti M. Do you also about what are the consequences if a married Sailor is caught cheating with another Sailor?
Comment by Anti M on May 31, 2016 at 9:39am

They will probably let him keep his live ashore, because how will they know unless someone says something, or sees it posted online?  As long as you are coming back, it should be fine.  He needs to check the rules he agreed to, just to be certain.

Hello, does anybody know about Live Ashore rules.? My Husband & I live together off base while he's in ATT school, since he was granted Live Ashore. I'm wondering if he can still come to our apartment alone if I will be out of town for more than 30 days? Is he allowed to come back here & stay by himself or would I have to be present in the apartment with him? Thank You

Allison ... you would not pay to move the piano, you can have one moved as part of your household goods shipment.  You would want a professional prep it before each move, and one to tune it after, but if you're within the weight allowance, which is generous, they'll move it.  They move boats and motorcycles as part of HHG, a piano is easy.
