Thanks JayDee! Glad everything is good now in your area and that you get your power back soon. Never thought about the invisible fences when power goes out!!!
Coolmom,
From the sounds of things your daughter is in the same rating my son is in. Yes, C school can be intense but if she made it through A school then this is just a continuation for her and she knows what to expect. Best of luck to her. And I would venture a guess that it's going to be hard on both of you, her for the increased studying she has to do and you for more of that "no communication" thing!!!!
Thanks for everything!
My daughter is currently at C school. She said that the first two weeks would be hard and then it would be easier (rumor mill). I have received just a few (one line texts) to thank me for letters and silly stuff but other than that it has been crickets. She did text my husband (her dad) for Father's day. I don't know if this is harder for me or her?
spyder and Oleander,
Please be careful in all that heat out there!!! I know you kind of expect it with desert living but it can still be dangerous!!! I too heard about the plane that couldn't land because of the heat. I understood it could cause the tires to blow upon landing if the runway is too hot.
spyder,
Gila Bend will always have a special place in my heart now!!! Especially that little diner we went to!!!
JayDee,
Such a cute story - I remember popping tar bubbles also!!! And I love bubble wrap!!! Problem is now, I use so many pieces of bubble wrap to protect items in our trailer when we pack up and travel. I can't pop it because I need them all!!! I have such a high level of self control!!!! ugh!!! I hope you guys didn't have any problems in that storm the other night. My oldest son and family live in Ohio now just north of Cincinnati, and also had to take cover in their basement when all the tornado warnings went off. They had a little flooding but nothing serious.
Roliesmom,
I'm jealous hearing of you having all your kiddos together!! But I'm so happy for you!!! I know you are making and saving so many special memories. So glad you like the boyfriend!! Enjoy your time with them all!!!
Well, I think I've discovered the real reason we are stuck here in VA. Since I injured my left knee late last year and spent so much time favoring it, my right knee started acting up with sharp burning pain in the inside knee joint. It has been getting progressively worse and is really affecting my ability to walk. And it wakes me up out of a sound sleep because of the pain. It is far worse than the left knee was (which is actually getting better). So Sunday we found a VA hospital about 2 hours away and hubby took me to the ER to get it checked out. Dr took xrays and said it looks like arthritis and a small bone spur. He ordered a urgent ortho consult and today I got a call to come in!!!!! They had a cancellation and took that opportunity to fit me in. This Dr gave me a injection of two numbing drugs and a steroid. Hurt like *^#$% to have that needle stuck into my joint but it's starting to feel a little better. Plus, I hope you are all sitting down for this, he ordered an MRI!!!!! They know we are stuck here for three weeks so they are actually going to try to get me some answers before I leave. Why couldn't Jacksonville do this?!?!?! But I am so thankful and grateful!!!!!
Sorry for the long book but just wanted to share my recent good news!!!
Praying for your safety JayDee! And hope that storm doesn't head your way Blondie!
