Patriciab,   We were able to see him any weekend we were there.  After he phases up, he will be able to have the weekends of unless he has a duty which isn't very often.  We have a daughter and son-in-law in MoncksCorner which is convenient to the base.  Congratulations on your soon to be Nuke!

KAM Mom, Our son will be in GC in 3 weeks. We live in the Florence area and are excited that he will be so close. Do you get to see your son often?

Comment by KAM Mom on June 25, 2016 at 11:33am

Buzzbeck,  Was your sister at CHIPSA?  We loved the beach area of Playes de Tijuana....we were able to see the Navy ships from San Diego out in the ocean doing "stuff".  The most fun sight was that of a carrier with all the landing lights on!!  Then it went into "parking" mode with just a few lights on.  Then on the Monday just prior to our leaving, we saw another carrier out off the coast nearer to our beach!

Our sailor is on "Grad Hold" doing various watch duty.   He did not get leave right after graduation, but will get two weeks either this week or next.  It is nice that we are only 2 hours away in the middle of the state and often travel to the Charleston area.

What do you know about your sailor going on to Prototype?

Comment by Buzzbeck on June 24, 2016 at 8:09pm

B'sNukeMom: Thank you so much.

KAM Mom: Yes we were there, our sailor is class 1602 section1. Boy it was a hot one, but it was worth every minute to watch the hard working sailors reach yet another goal. Congrats to your sailor. What a blessing to have everyone together to watch it all. My sister also received cancer treatment in Mexico. She reports that all is well so far. I will add your family to my prayer list.

Hi Buzzbeck,   My son graduated on the 17th....class 1602 section 3.  Is that when you were in GC?  Certainly was hot, but it was great to celebrate the graduates.  All our children, 5, were together as we celebrated our middle child.  It was very, very special as we had just returned from Mexico and the cancer treatment!!!!
