That's not good JayDee!!!!  Will have to check it out!!  I also hope everyone is safe, except the shooter; hope he is under arrest!!!!

Good morning ladies.  Just got an alert that Andrews Airforce Base has an active shooter and is on lock down.  In light of recent terrorist activity I'm rather concerned.  Hope everyone is safe.

Blondie,

Can't stay here, hubby has to be in PA in a couple weeks then we go to Ohio to see my sister.  Might have to wait until we get to WA or San Diego for the winter where we will be for a couple months.  I have to go to a VA hospital to have it done.

Oleander,

So thankful he is safe and was not there!!!  Too scary!!

Thank you for all the comments and support. I really do appreciate all the info.  I got a call from the ortho dr I saw and he said I have a simple tear of the miniscus on the outside of the knee and a complex tear of the miniscus on the inside, right where the intense pain is located!!!  He said the miniscus is loose there and can move around, which I understand it's not supposed to do!!!  He also said that the cartilage is worn down to the bone!!!  So it definitely needs surgery but they are booked for three months.  He also said exercising it won't fix it and to do activity that doesn't hurt.  I do ice it as much as I can and take Aleve and Tylenol xtra strength.  I try not to take the more serious oxycodone and hydrocodone that was prescribed because I don't want to get dependent on strong painkillers.  Now I just have to find a place where we can park long term and get in to get this fixed!!!!

Wow, yes, thank God he is safe and prayers for all.
Good luck Anna, hope you are better today!

Oh no! Definitely ice, elevate, and keep us posted!

My nephew was in Turkey last weekend. He left Istanbul airport just hours before the attack.

Thanking God that he's safe, praying for the families and victims of this heinous act

Anna I'm not positive. I've gotten several. The one that didn't seem to work well was the one where I fell in the parking lot the following day and took most of the impact to my knee. I generally feel better the next say then it gets worse for a day then subsides as the medicine kicks in and the swelling from the injection go down. I hope you feel better tomorrow. Try icing for 20 minutes then off for 20 and elevate. No heat.

Let me know how you do and how your MRI goes.

Oleander,

The knee still hurts!! :(

And so this question goes to JayDee!  You said you get this shot in your knee when it starts acting up.  I got the shot Friday morning and by Saturday the knee felt much better.  We took a bike ride, all level ground but ended up biking about 7 miles according to my speedometer.  Is it possible I undid the effects of the shot, or is the pain back because the long term painkiller wore off?????

Good news - - I got an MRI today so I should hear something in a day or two!!!!  Hopefully!!!!!!

Comment by Oleander on June 27, 2016 at 12:14pm

Morning all!

We love your books Anna! How's your knee since the injection? Looks like your being there was definitely the plan.

Rolliesmom, have a wonderful time together. I savor every minute I get but it never feels like there's enough time.

Is your power back on JayDee? If we lost power in this heat I'm pretty sure I'd be booking it to a hotel until it came back on.

I hope you hear from your sailor soon Coolmom!

Have a good day everybody!

Anna, prayers for you. Glad injections helped, temporarily at least.
