Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Some times he have to work day on the weekend but you can check him out on a Friday and have him back by Saturday if he on duty that Sunday

Once our son graduates boot camp, he stays in GL for a while is what we are hearing. After PIR do we have to wait just like if his school was there? does he get the weekend liberty?

Frances - she will find out when she get's liberty. Just like for PiR weekend, she'll have to stay in uniform, you will have to sign her out (liberty buddy) and be back in time, etc.. Some weekends she will have to stand watch. But YES - if she is given liberty, you can spend it with her. We lived 1 hour north, and got to see him on 2 different Saturdays before he left for VA.

Frances - welcome to the CS home. If you look down a few entries you will see my explanation dated March 31. This is true of ALL our sailors heading for Fort Lee. The first week at GL is naval indoctrination, after that it is a lot of cleaning and just helping around the base, standing watch in their barracks etc. The time there depends on openings in Virginia, not when or how she finished boot. So glad she was able to pass fit... encourage her to keep up the workouts and runs, it doesn't get easier and they WILL separate if you fail too many. Thank her for working so hard, she'll make a great cook!

So my daughter may not leave GL for a while ?

Hi everyone. My daughter was to finish 5-27-2016 but she had to pass fit but she is a Navy Sailor now and I am not sure of her date to ho to VA. She finished yesterday

My daughter will graduate BC on 5/13! She said she will stay a GL until 5/20, then off to VA!
I'm soo excited to see her next week ❤️
