DavesMom - That's awesome you got to do the Tiger Cruise! We hope to do that someday. What a great opportunity!!

Davesmom, I'm anxious to hear all the details. What an experience!

On another note- please read below as to why no new members are joining.

Campbell-Ewald was the Navy's ad agency when the site was created in 2008 (Check out the ABOUT US tab.) and the ad agency, NOT the Navy, paid for the NavyforMoms domain. Young & Rubicam became the Navy's ad agency in April of 2015. Although CE lost the account more than a year ago, it took a year for the effects to trickle down to N4M and we started seeing a decline in membership in April. (See http://www.crainsdetroit.com/ARTICLE/20150610/NEWS/150619987/campbe....) Not many new members were added in April and the first part of May and then no new members were added between 16 May and 30 June. There were 132 new members added on 30 June and no new members have been added since. There is currently no N4M Admin since the Admin were from CE and CE is not going to pay for anyone to oversee the site when they are not the ad agency.

CE has some real issues.

CE sent texts from the Navy to people as a recruiting measure and ended up in a class action suit. (See http://www.law360.com/articles/418363/navy-contractor-campbell-ewal... and https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/15pdf/14-857%20-%20new_gfbi.pdf.)

It was the Campbell-Ewald CEO who was fired due to inappropriate emails. (See http://www.adweek.com/agencyspy/campbell-ewald-creative-invited-tea....)

Hopefully, the registration for the NavyforMoms.com domain can be transferred to Young & Rubicam or better yet, to the Navy so that the current issues on this site can be solved.

There have been a few posts about the changes. See ATTN: Prospective Members (that was our first notice that there was a problem), Can prospective members now join? UPDATE, and Sad to see the decline here.

Hi Navy Moms.  I got home from my Tiger Cruise late last week.  It was glorious!  I loved everything about it except for the sleeping quarters and, well, the head left a lot to be desired, too.  :)  Best of all I had lots of time with my Sailor!  Hope you're all doing well and enjoying the heat.  The State Fair is just around the corner!  Time flies!

Good afternoon everyone,
Its been awhile since I have checked in on this site. Sorry that I couldn't make the last get together. Hope everyone's summer is going good even though it is ending to fast.
My sailor is still over in Japan doing good and loving it.

We had a few tears but also some laughs! It was so great getting to know Ella, the sister of one of our sailors. I love to see the youth of today take time out to hang out with some older women on a Saturday afternoon. We really can't wait so long  to have another get together. The Navy Moms get it!

I agree 100%, SaltyMama.  Great to see old friends and great to meet new ones.  Glad so many could make it despite the stormy weather.

Hi everyone! We really had a great time getting to see our "old" Navy mom friends as well as meeting some wonderful new ones today. Hope even more can make it to the next one. Stay tuned for further info on when that is!

Oh, boy.  I said that wrong.  We would only have to wear a socially appropriate top and pj bottoms.  lol.  I'm excited to see everyone on Sat.  A few from the fb group are coming, too.

Comment by JJ on July 12, 2016 at 3:40pm

Does that mean we can go TOPLESS.....Not a pleasant sight at my house!!  LOL I would have to put a piece of tape over my camera lens!! Can't wait 'til Saturday.

Comment by DavesMom on July 12, 2016 at 2:04pm

Thanks, JJ.  Maybe someday we can all meet via video and bring our own lunch to the computer.  Not the same as "in person," but nobody would have to drive.  Bonus: we could be in our PJ bottoms.  :)
