Oleander,

Happy birthday to your grandson!!!!  Hope we can see some of those pics!!!!!

JayDee,

Enjoy every minute of the visit no matter how short!!!  We brought our two kitties in our Son's house with their 3 kitties!!!  5 cats running around!!  No major issues but little hissing fits once in awhile.  My girls will be lost when we go back in our trailer!!!!

Sounds like everyone is  keeping busy.  Happy Birthday to your grandson Oleander!

My hubby made it home early Saturday morning so I've been enjoying having him around.  He has been rather productive and has replaced his back shocks on his truck and will work on mine this weekend.

Best news is that my sailor and her husband will be home sometime Friday night.  They're only staying until Sunday  morning but in that short time we'll shop for wedding dresses (for the church wedding this fall), register and celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary.  When she leaves she'll take her dog.  I know I'm going to miss that dog and my new puppy will be lost without her.  Don't even want to think what our ancient Boxer will think about it.  She'll lose 2 dog friends in 6 weeks.

Hope everyone is keeping cool.  Been hot here but not as hot as you ladies out west.  At least you don't have the humidity - ugh.

Hi Anna! So nice to hear you're enjoying your visit!

Been super busy here - today is our grandson's 5 yr bday! Some exciting and interesting news from our sailor who is still underway but is intermittently able to send a quick fb msg. They've had NMMP dolphins onboard, says she has great photos which we'll see when she's back in port. Exciting stuff..114 here today, 115 tomorrow.

Hope everyone is well!

MartiB,

Always happy to see you check in and update us on your daughter.  I'm so proud of all our daughters are doing!!!  And then the added pressure of being a single mom.  My hubby had to move to other cities for his job several years ago when my daughters were still in school.  I wasn't a single mom, but I did have all the work to do on my own as he was only around for a few weekends and then it was all fun stuff.  I so admire all that single parents have to go through!!!!!  And to serve at the same time!!!!

Check in often!!!!

JayDee,

Ouch!!!!  Sorry to hear about your stings!!  I hope you heal quickly!!

Oleander,

Be careful in that heat.  So much of our country is under severe heat!!  It's crazy!!  Stay cool!!

Blondie,

Good news for your daughter's friend.

Najul,

More good info on the airline tickets.  I'm going to save that info for the next time on of my sailors have to fly somewhere!!!

Blondie, hope your daughter mends quickly from her surgery. That has to be hard to not be there with her.

JayDee - we have lots of yellowjackets this yeat and their stings are very painful. Thank goodness you don't seem to be severely allergic to their sting. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I just check in every so often with this group to see what others with daughters in the Navy are up to. I am so proud of my daughter snd all she has accomplished so far. It is really hard since she is now a single mom but I sm sure there are lots more jusy like her.

JayDee - hope you're feeling better by now! That's a terrible experience!!!

Lots of prayers for Melissa, Dave, their children and your sailor Blondie. Thanks for their address. I'll send a note today!

Great info on Southwest Najul. Our sailor flies home as much as possible for weekends, I'm definitely going to take advantage of this.

Going to be 114 here today - searing heat! Thank goodness for air conditioning and the swim spa!

Blondie waiting - especially when we're far away is the worst isn't it?  Hang in there!

Blondie glad its going well. The power of prayer! Say one for me. I stepped in a yellow jacket nest. My foot that just had surgery took the majority of stings but they got me every where. Just got back from the urgent care and feel miserable.
