Thanks Spyder! September is literally around the corner - have a wonderful time!
JayDee, meant to say I'm sorry about the navy rollercoaster but thrilled it all worked out and that you'll be with your sailor for her birthday!
Hi everyone! Been a little crazy here with my little grandson shadow - he's getting ready to go home so we're busy fitting more fun into his days... memories!
JayDee, sounds like a great vacation. Nothing like girlfriend time with a good friend! Thanks for sharing that pic, truer words have never been spoken!
Yay Anna! So glad to hear everyone is home safe and sound. I know that makes your mama heart happy. Safe travels as you head back out on the road and hope you have a wonderful time with the navy mom!
Blondie, that picture is adorable! You obviously care more about the business than boss lady. I hope you can enjoy your vaca -- breathe. I have a feeling it'll all be there when you get back....maybe more work than you want to untangle but you're apparently a pro at doing just that.
My sailor girl will be home from underway on Friday. Can't wait to find out how this one went!
Happy Wednesday : )
Just got back from a great visit with a wonderful girlfriend out west and it looks like I need to catch up here!
Oleander and Blondie - such adorable pictures! Looks like everyone is having a good time.
Anna, sounds like your family is getting home and settled. Will you get to see all of them on your travels this summer?
We're starting the Navy ups and downs. After being told that everyone in her class would definitely be going to prototype in NY and scrambling for housing, my daughter was told that she would be staying in SC! She's holding on to her NY housing and holding off telling her SC landlord until she has orders in her hand though. It was like a fire drill - lots of running around without true crisis. The great news is that she'll be able to comfortably spend her 20th birthday with my husband and me and her God parents in October!
Also, saw this and it seemed appropriate. Have a great Wednesday!
What a great day for our family - Sailor Son got home from his 5th deployment and is getting settled in his new digs in Whidbey Island. And NFO daughter got home from her deployment and is back home with hubby and her fur babies!!! We are heading to Montana tomorrow and then on to WA to visit son and family!!!!! Visiting with a NavyMom in Montana!!!
When we first made our plans we didn't know about the wedding but when daughter told us the dates, we extended our stay to have the time with her also. We all had such a good time - I even crashed the wedding ceremony because it was at our church when we lived there. I even got to spend a few minutes after visiting with our favorite pastor and then stayed for Mass. Both bride and groom told me to come to the reception as well but I told them I was the official wedding crasher, I wasn't going to crash the reception also!!! Now we're making our way through Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, and into Montana again.
Yes, Oleander!! Where has summer gone???
Hi everyone, happy Friday : )
Great photos Blondie, hose babies are beautiful! What happy little faces, awwww. Glad to hear Melissa's doing well, sounds like she's doing an amazing job coping. Amen!
It's been pretty busy here lately. Grandson Larkin complained of his ears hurting .. sure enough, ear infections which of course means no swimming. It's a challenge to keep him above water in the bathtub! 2 days later he took a bad spill while doing something he knew he shouldn't. We thought he broke his foot but turns out just a bad sprain. Amazing how resilient they are! - he was back to being a rambunctious 5 yr old in no time! Looking forward to this weekend when we can get him back in the water to tire him out haha.
Can you believe August is almost over? This summer has been a whirlwind. Hope everyone is well - have a great weekend!
Here's Larkin: bath time and helping me cook
Morning all!
Blondie, I hope Melissa continues to heal! Prayers to her and the family.
Anna what a nice surprise! I know you made the best of every moment!
Sailor girl goes underway for 2 weeks today, probably heading out to the big blue as I write this. I don't think I'll ever get used to not having communication - even if it's just 14 days at a time.
Happy Monday everyone!
Update,
Visiting family in Ohio now. We pull out Tuesday heading west!! On the plus side our veteran daughter flew in for a dear friend's wedding and stayed at my sister's. So for two nights I stayed at my sister's also and we had some good momma daughter time!!!! We took her back to the airport this afternoon. She made me promise not to cry until she was out of sight!!! I tried to be strong but . . . . . I miss her already!!!!
Not a lot of time to catch up so I'll try to get back on here soon!!! Love to all my sister Moms!!!!
