Glad your son's back Anna. How long are you going to be in Washington? I will be up there middle of September...:).
Safe travels!

Safe and happy travels from ND to Oak Harbor. Nice weather on Whidbey this time of year.
Our son has been attached to a squadron at Whidbey for two plus years now and has enjoyed it. When I worked for the Navy as a civilian, we would inspect our weather detachment located at NAS Whidbey every 2 years and always looked forward to going there.
If you can get access on base, suggest you check out the absolutely beautiful Cliffside RV park on base.
Have a wonderful visit with your Sailor!

Well our Son made it home from his 5th deployment and is getting settled in his new place in Whidbey!!!!  We are currently in ND and making our way over to WA in the next week. (Hubby doesn't like driving long distances pulling the big trailer so we take our time!!)  Will be staying in the RV campground in Oak Harbor!!!  Can't wait to get to WA again!!!!

Well, my daughter made it and is all checked in.  I guess she'll be doing a couple of C-schools. She said the drive was easy and beautiful.  We planned the drive based on what everyone said.  I'm looking forward to making a road trip or two to the area myself :-)

Thanks, everyone, for the great info about what to do with my daughter's car.  I'm looking forward to making some road trips up there with a friend of mine, so it's great to know they have an RV park

I think for long deployments, we'll bring it back home so we can start it periodically--good plan.

I'll definitely be sharing the info about traffic with her, too.

Love My USN Kid - I think she will want to have her car on Whidbey. Lots of places to go and things to do. Public transportation is limited.
