Thanks for posting Tee and Michmom.   I had hoped that there would be tons of success stories here. I guess we must wait a while longer for those great results.

It took him a few years to totally give up the regrets he had. Now he's talking about applying for OCS in the future.

Comment by Tee-1sailor's mom on March 27, 2013 at 1:01pm

Oh my yes he did.  I have to say though, it was the best thing for him in the long run.  He has grown as a person, and as a man so much.  He did the work to learn what happened, why he didn't make it, and to move on.  He also got a great rate and is going to re-enlist in a few months.

I have a feeling that if any officer's DOR, they don't talk about it much, and in the BUDS groups I've never seen anyone say.  I would be interested to know the differences as well.

Hi Tee,

thanks for staying in touch with me......my son is giving me very little information at this point. He sounds great however, and I am sure that I will learn more by the end of this week :o) I know all of us moms must have similar emotions around this isuue and our sons, regardless of their rankings......but it would be interesting to know the difference. Maybe I should start up another group.......

In the mean time......did your son have any regrets?

Hi michmom, I had been checking this group, but it hadn't had any posts so I just saw your posts.  I think you're breaking new ground here, at least in our little circle of moms.  I imagine he will walk a different path than the enlisted guys.  I have no idea if he'll go through the same reclassifying process as they do.

HI out there,

I am still hoping to hear from anyone who has or just beginning the process of  supporting a DOR'd son........

Comment by michmom on March 22, 2013 at 1:28pm

My son DOR'd yesterday and I am trying to wrap my brain around the whole thing.......This has been his dream for 12 years so this has come as a shock to all of us but we want to offer all the right support.......

He is an officer so the curosity of what is next for him is swirling in my brain!

Hi MyLas and Jaimers.  MyLAS, do you want to invite others to this group or would you like me to do it from the DOR group, or both?
