OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Hi.  My sailor went to A school in Texas and was unable to pass her firsts test in Corpsman school.  She was given a second chance and missed it by one point.   She was told she may have to go to undesignated fleet.  Does anyone know what this is?

Comment by diannep on June 26, 2014 at 9:37am

TMansmom:  Your new sailor will need to give you the address.  Does your sailor have his cellphone now?  If so, should be an easy thing to fix!  Then I'm sure he will love those care pkgs arriving!  :-)

Leaving this group now.  Blessings to all of your new sailors in their Navy futures!

Basketcase,

Sounds like a wonderful time with your Sailor and you got to go shopping too??  That's great!  Thanks for your assistance on the Basket Project!!  I'm curious about your personal website that Sarge mentioned.  What do you sell?

Everything was incredible. Best trip my husband and I have been on in a very long time. All your advice was spot on. The ceremony was incredible to witness. Such pride. Highly recommended calling sarge and getting his expert advice. After speaking with him we changed both our hotels. .Springhill suites was directly across from the meet and greet. Which was a lot of fun! Our basket project raised over $380! Thats not including the cash donations he received. Great night. I enjoyed meeting everyone. We did take the train into the city. Very nice ride. We got to sit snd tslk to our sailor. It took a little over an hpur. Quick taxi ride to The Navy Pier. We ate at Harry Caray's restaurant. Was amazing. Especially for my cub fan husband. We walked around, shopped, took lots of pictures. Headed back around 4pm. Took her back to hotel where she took a nice, long hot shower BY HERSELF lol. She relaxed and we drove her back to base around 8:15pm. WONDERFUL VISIT. We did not meet her at airport as her flight left for Pensacola early Saturday. We ate at Giadornos Pizza..heaven! We to cubs game..chicago hit divs are the best! Not much sleep but worth it! Now skyping with my sailor every night! God is great! Yes, bring sweater for PIR. Chilly in drill hall.

Yes, he helped with the mural...finishing at 0100 prior to PIR, THEN HAD WATCH 0200-0400 and slept for 1.5 hrs. To say he was running on fumes through PIR is an understatement!! Congrats to your sailor!

Shiloh, where are you ordering the flag? My son helped with the design and I wanted to get a pic of it before we left graduation, but the Petty Officer had already taken it off the pole.

Shiloh:  Sounds like they needed to check your "extra" out and when they realized that you still had your 4 guests, they allowed that person into the PIR Hall.  Glad it worked out that way for you!  Thanks for sharing that so we can inform future PIR groups!
