Hello peformance division moms! I'm going to go ahead and introduce myself (again - I feel like I've done that all over the site!) and see if we can't get to know each other a little. :)

I'm Shannon (or just Shan), from western TX, out near Abilene.  My SR attended two years at Texas A&M where he represented the Fish Drill Team in the Color Guard in their national championship at Tulane. (Which is held right before Mardi Gras - SO MUCH FUN), so he's definitely not new to the whole color guard thing.  He's likely a little older than most/many SR's at 21, and so I am as well, at 43...

We've got our room booked at the Ramada from the 2nd to the 6th trying to cover bases as best as we can with little/no information since he'll be flying out to SC for nuke school after graduation. Any other nuke moms? It's a little daunting when you realize your kid really IS that smart (and a little irritating that he apparently enjoyed the Corps more than the college work he was so capable of! lol kids, what can you do?) and now we're curiously waiting to see if he'll decide to go submarine or not. He's said no, but I know this kid - if they need subs, he'll be the one that says "well, I didn't want to at first, but...."

Anyway, just wanted to say hello. :)

Hi Shannon.  Welcome.

My son graduated from A&M, Class of 08.  He was an N-1 Knight in the Corps.

My son was "this close" to joining N-1 and to this day I feel as if he had, he'd still be there. :\  He went with the S-1 Spartans instead... a unit that may or may not even exist this year thanks to their "leadership."

Thanks for the welcome. :)

Hi my son is also with your sons. He will be going to Pensacola for A School to be an Air Traffic Controller.

I'm so happy we have these groups here and on Facebook to talk and get information. My SR is happy and doing really great after last call and letter (this past week). I'm hoping to hear from him Sunday. He had his wisdom teeth pulled Wednesday. I am dying to find out what he will be doing at PIR. from what I've read they perform at 3 PIRs including their own.

His name is Eric and we are from Long Island. Hopefully they are all becoming life long friends.
Hi , Shan We're from Sugar Land. My daughter did one semester at ACU. She really liked Abilene.
My daughter is younger than your son , 19. But, I am way older than you.

She was band in high school , plays trumpet.
