My son is leaving August 19! Have him log into navydep.com, so much info and support and my son loves having other people to talk to that are leaving in August

Thank you I just text him the website info.  I really want him to be as ready as he can be. Mentally & physically!

I have been surprised about how many people are negative towards my sons decision to enlist. Have you found that problem?

My daughter left that same day as well. Have you received his address yet? I got the box with her stuff yesterday.

abysmom, Check your My Page. PIR is most likely 10/10/2014. Ten days after arrival is the average time to receive the form letter.

My son leaves August 19!  I suspect our sons will be at Great Lakes together (at least I think they will be).

My son is going to take a test to see about going to Nuke school after but for now he is set to be a Logistics Specialist.

Its nice to not feel so alone in this.

A friend of a friend who is in the Navy suggested they sign up for a swimming class unless they are swimmers already. To help them improve on swimming laps without stopping because swimming laps and swimming with friends are  very different.

My son is going to be a Logistics Specialist too. :)

My 18 year old son is leaving for BC then as well.  I am very proud of him.  I want him to be ready mentally and physically.  I just not sure I am ready for him to leave even though I know it is what needs to happen.

My son is also leaving for BC Aug 12! This group and site has so much info. So glad I found it! Where are you and your soon to be sailor from? There will be lots of recruits there but it will be neat if they are able to connect because of this site allowing the moms to cry on each others shoulders.

We are from Garden Grove California. How about yourself? I agree about Navy for Moms it had made me not feel so lost during this process. My son has found it helpful some of the info I have been able to give home from this site

My son leave August 12 for BC.  He graduates high school May 22 and I get all teary eyed just thinking about that so I will probably be a basket case when August gets here.

My son also leaves August 12th, graduates high school May 16 and the closer both of those dates get the harder it is. It would be great if all of our boys got to know he each.
