Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Basket Donation Raffle for Sarges Meet & Greet @ the Sundance Saloon Thursday Evening before PIR. Donation for Sarge and his wife for all that they do for all the Navy Families @ PIR. 100% proceeds goes to them to help offset the cost of this dinner meet & greet.

Any basket, bag, box, or container with a creative mix of items that can be raffled. :-)

You might think about keeping the cost of the basket somewhere in the 20-25 dollar range, then sell raffle tickets for all the baskets, and do a drawing instead of biding. This will make all the baskets "sell".

This is going well!  Other groups have place their limit about $35~~

I will bring some San Francisco treasure and give a cash donation. I'm Sooo excited to meet everyone. Even more excited to see my sailor.
Got excited about this today. :) 1) My scentsy lady is going to donate a US Navy warmer. 2) found a cute bowl with anchors, think it would make good popcorn bowl. Thinking about doing Movie Night bag. :)

Just got of the phone with Sarge.  He said that doing the Basket Raffle at his Meet and Greet would be a lot of fun plus helpful to him and his wife for the expenses  :) 

Here is the plan: Anyone who wants to, can put together a "Basket" (can be a bag, basket, box, whatever) for the raffle. 

We will set up our baskets with an index card next to it with the contents.  Also next to it will be a cup. 

We will sell tickets: ($1 per ticket, 6 tickets for $5, 12 for $10, 25 for $20, etc) 

If you want to win an item, you place however many tickets (to better your chances)  you want into the cup next to the item.  Then after supper, the winning ticket drawn from the cup for each item.  That way you are in the drawing for the basket you want.

If you want to do a basket, some ideas are:  something from your state, your favorite team, favorite hobby, etc... If you don't want to do a basket, a gift card could be raffled as well.

Sarge also wanted me to tell you all that there will be a Dance Contest at the Meet and Greet. Each division needs to have 3 representive couple to dance to the Village People's "In the Navy" and the winners will win customized T-shirt. He said that it is a LOT of fun and there is probably a video on FB from last week's meeting.
He also suggested doing a "Centerpiece contest" between Divisions.

@ Christopher'sMom and Everyone -   I apologize for the muddled explanation :)

The idea is to get as many raffable items as possible, such as a gift bag of items or a gift card, or simply an item that people might want to win (such as the Navy Scentsy warmer or I saw a cute Anchor wall art from Hobby Lobby)   You mentioned putting together a bag from Boston and we also have ones from Georgia, San Francisco, and Texas being done.  I also heard from another Mom not on this site that is going to do a Date Night basket.   ANY idea for a raffle item is welcome.  We don't want people to have to spend too much though so "baskets" ranging from $25 - $35 is the suggested range. 

I wondered about bringing on the plane and one idea that was told to me, was to contact the hotel and see if they would agree to let me ship a box to them the week of PIR.  That way we wouldn't have to worry about extra baggage.

I also wanted to let ya'll know that I went ahead and started planning this because I'm Empty Nesting :( and it gives me something to do. I like planning things like this but I am totally inept at conversation and speaking so help will definitely be needed at the Meet and Greet!  :)     Sarge said that there will be raffle setup, the actual raffle, ticket sales, money collection, and money count that he would like for the N4M Moms to help with.  :)
