Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 177 and 178

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thanks for setting up this page....now where is everybody?

Hello Blueiiis865, nice to meet you! where will your recruit go for A school?  My son will be going to Charleston.

HI, I found this spot too.  Maybe as the group grows, there'll be more interest in joining in.

I hope so!!!
We aren't sure yet.... He signed up to do an apprenticeship program...something new they have I think. He will get to try out different jobs before he actually goes to train for one. What is your son going to do? And Proud mom what about your son?

mine i think will be will be going to Pensacola

Hi everyone! Did you all receive your SR's box and form letter?
Hi all! I finally found this. Glad to be part of this group.

Hello Everyone. My son will be going to Mississippi for A school for Meteorology/Oceanography. I  received his box and the form letter. I missed his first call and was very sad about this!!

Sorry to hear that Ineville.  I know that must have been hard.  I know my son is going to Pensacola afterwards...I am guessing that is for A school but I am not really sure.  I am pretty new at this.  Also, did anyone receive a call last Sunday? Nothing here. :(

Also, thank you Blueiiis865 for answering my question about sending letters.  I know how my son is but it is important for them to know we are proud of them and we love them back at home. :)

Let's hope for a call this Sunday.

No call this past Sunday and I stayed glued to both the land line ( YES) we still have one of those and my cell.  BTW I stopped into recruiting office yesterday as it is in same business complex center as my daughter's orthodontist.  Petty officer recommends I don't volunteer location, current or future, of my son.  So I'm going to get in the practice of being real generic.  He called once from RTC, missed the first chance as he was in wrong line.  He spoke of folding his underwear.  I smiled for the first time since I dropped him off.

I read that the only call to really expect is the one that they were allowed when they got there. All other calls are rare and will have to be earned. And are random you don't know when to expect them. I haven't gotten any call since he has been there other than the initial one that I missed  :( . Has anyone heard any different. It really is hard not hearing from him. I have mailed him a letter with some envelopes and stamps.
