My son left on Wed. It's only been two days and it feels kind of weired. Spend some really good quality time in these next couple of days. It's a bit of a roller coaster ride, but the excitement of him being in the Navy outweighs any sadness. If you can see him swear in that will be such a great moment.

Thanks, dropping him off with recruiter today. Emotions heavy today. Need to be strong from him!

Yeah, and these next couple of days will be different. Not really bad but just a little different. You will probably cry a bit, but that's part of the experience :) I noticed that after we left MEPS, I felt like I needed to decompress.  I cleaned his room really well, and then thought about what I wanted to focus on for me.  I miss him terribly but it's what he wanted to do, and I plan to take good care of myself so that I can be strong and positive for him when I do get a phone call, etc. I figure the Navy is taking really good care of him, he's healthy, all is good. You'll do just fine.

My son left today. We had a wonderful family filled weekend and I miss him already and it's only been a few hours!

I did the same thing. We went to baseball games, movies etc. The first few hours after he left last week was sad, but it gets much better as time goes on. Next you'll be concentrating on your trip for PIR. Congrats on your new seaman recruit!

Thank you. Congrats to you also! It's all very exciting.

Have you received the box or form letter yet?

My son left 6/18 and I received my box and letter 2 days ago. It will be nice to get a real letter.

I found a "current" page :)  I just posted on a couple that were last used in 2013  LOL.  My son also left on the 23rd, it is hard not talking or texting - he hasn't lived with us for about 6 months so that I am used to a little.  I got the box on Friday and hoping the letter comes tomorrow so I can start sending letters to him!  I really can't wait to hear from him and get a letter.  Keep your phones close close ladies, I was surprised last year when my first was at GL and I got a call the 2nd weekend  (look for that 847 area code)   NMH>>

Received his box and letter today PIR 8/22! Miss him so much. We are looking forward to hearing his voice soon and seeing him soon!

My son is leaving 6/24. We're in Colorado. What's your son's rate?
