Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 255 and 256

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Hi everyone!  My son is 11/255, he is #4 son out of 4 boys and 1 girl - Corpsman is his job and he will come back to Texas (SA) for his A-School.  I have one sailor (#3 son) stationed in FL, he will be a year in Nov.  I am actually leaving in a few hours to take #2 son to start processing at MEPS and fly out to Great Lakes tomorrow.  So my name on here will change in about 2 weeks, to include 2 ship/division numbers!

Diane, My daughter is 11/255 and she is also going to San Antonio for Corpsman school. I'd love to touch base with you - my email is dpugh182@gmail.com

Also I'm a USN vet from many years ago and went to bootcamp in Orlando. My daughter and I both thought we were fully prepared for this, but it is undoubtedly harder than expected. From my perspective, it was easier to go thru bootcamp than be on this side of the fence lol!

Deborah-

My daughter is also ship 11 DIV 255. Please send me a note. I am not good at this tech stuff. I book my air fare but no room yet.Any one  have any good reasonable suggestions?

What A school will your daughter be attending after RTC?

Air traffic control, yours?

Corpsman - got a call from her Thursday and she sounded really good. She called Monday he tears saying she felt she'd made a poor decision by enlisting. I gave her the pros and cons and talked her up as much as I could.....

Ry sounded good on our last call. Said she missed home. She said she was an E2 now.

Hi everybody. I have a daughter who is 11/255. She is my second child going through boot camp. Her older brother had PIR October 25, 2013 and is now on a ship deployed. I'm not sure if I am allowed to say what ship he is on, so I won't. They are my only 2 children and I love them so very much. My daughter will be staying in great lakes for A School, yeah, we live about 32 miles from base so I am very happy. She will be going to school for OS. She said that she has met a few others who will also be going to school for OS.

My daughter is also 11/255. She is our oldest. Our youngest is 7, our girls are 11 1/2 years apart. MY SR is going to Florida for A-School. Diane, you are on quite a journey. Not sure I could handle that. So glad my girls have an age difference. I still have one at home for a few more years. Although, the little one talks about joining the Navy, like Sissy and Uncle Devie (my brother-in-law and her favorite uncle.)

Mom daughter will also go to Florida and is on the same boat and DIV. She is my youngest. Here Twin brother left June 16 to marines.Big empty nest!

Hi . My son is in DIv 256. He is going to be a Hospital Corpsman . I live about a hour and half from away from San Antonio . So I will be able to visit him on weekends. After corpsman school he will be going to North Carolina to train as a battlefield corpsman for the Marines . I'm hoping to get to know you all

Great - My daughter is ship 11 div 255 and she's headed to San Antonio for HM school as well and she's hoping to follow up in NC.
