I GOT A PHONE CALL!!!!!!

I was so excited to get that call and hear my daughter's voice.  I held it together pretty well while we were on the phone but she was a mess.  She was crying and telling me how much she loves me and misses me and her brothers.   She said she doesn't want to be stationed anywhere far again.  I didn't have the heart to tell her she likely wouldn't have much of a choice.

My daughter doesn't cry, hardly ever, so to hear her crying broke my heart.  She did say the joke I sent her made her laugh out loud and she was able to share it with the other girls she's friends with.  She asked me to send her more of those.  And she said to keep sending the letters.  So I will.  I pray I'll be able to afford the trip out there to see her.  I miss her so much.

She said she probably wouldn't be able to call me again, but she wrote me a 15 page, double sided letter and labeled the envelopes 1-4 so I would know where to start. :)

I miss her even more now and wish I could just hug her and see her.

She did tell me she's part of a "performing" division, so they are holding the state flags for PIR.  She said the rehearsals help time go by quicker and she's looking forward to that.  That means, since they will be performing 2 weeks before her graduation, I may get to see her if I watch the live stream!!!!!!!!  I can't wait!!!!

Thank you to this board for keeping my hopes up and for keeping me company when I'm horribly alone.  This week is especially difficult because my boys are staying with my parents in NJ, so it's just me, the dog and the cat. :/

My son is a very unemotional guy. When he called me being very upset because he is homesick. It took me by surprise and it hurt my heart. I keep it together also. My son has never been away from home longer than 2 days
Hang in there, Michelle! You will see each other soon!!! Even mine wrote it can't be soon enough and he spent several weeks in France not knowing anyone.

Michelle, My daughter has been away for 1-2 weeks at a time, but never without being in contact at least every other day.  That is the hardest part.  I'm hoping once she has her phone and laptop back it will get a little easier for both of us. :)

Wow! A 15 page letter! I am lucky to get 1 1/2 pages from my son.

Yeah, I couldn't believe it when she told me it was 15 pages.  I haven't received it yet, but I'm looking every day for it. :)

Thank you IBodyprof . That was a couple weeks ago when he called. I have not talk to him in over two weeks. He sounds like he is adjusting well now in his letters

How wonderful that you were able to hear her voice. I am sure it was very difficult. I imagine you wanted to reach through that phone & hug her. I know when my son leaves for BC I will be counting the hours til I get to hear his voice. Hugs!

Thanks Connors mom.  She said I probably won't receive another call so I'm just holding onto that one and waiting (impatiently) for PIR. :)

Momof3:  Our son was in the performing division as well.  We tuned in two weeks before his graduation and saw him marching in with the honor guard.  I got chills!  The best part is that you can watch it over and over and over again as much as you want as they keep it up on the site for a long time after.

I didn't know they kept it on the site!! That's so great to know.  I'm going to let my Mom and Dad know and I will be able to show my boys as well!!!! :)  I can't wait to see her on there! :)

I'm it will be better after they get there phone back and laptop. My son probably went through withdraws not having his phone . :)
