I just received my letter today and found out my son is on Ship 02 Div 945.  I am hoping to connect with other mom's and/or family members with recruits on this same ship/div.  I am trying to learn everything I can, but there is so much!!  I don't know why I didn't research any of this before he left.  Hoping to hear from someone soon!!  :)

my son is also in this group!!

My son too :-)

My son is also in this group.

Yes, Keequi, i don't know why i didn't come here before he left.  So much information, its tough to navigate it all!.  Now that I think about it, are we talking about the same group?  At the GL with PIR 09/19/2014 TG 45?  i feel so clueless!

mamagrunge,  I believe we are in the same group *LOL*  Yes, there is a plethora of info!!!  I like getting on the Face Book groups; it's a bit easier for me to navigate.  Are you on FB?

Hi! my son is also In this group. I'm wondering how he got placed in this div. I haven't received a phone call...He graduates on 9/19 :)
I was advised that this group has recruits that play instruments or drills. Interesting because he doesn't play any :) I also was advised they still do the same training as the other divisions but by being in this div. They also practice a lot and they do not receive any extra points for doing extra work... has anyone heard from their sailor in this div?

I don't think anyone has heard anything. I talked to my son for 20 seconds the first week when he was  at the nurse office.

Proudmomma - are you on FB?  I did talk to my SR yesterday for the first time!!  did you get your call, too?  He said the whole division was making calls.  He also said they were hand picked for their division and the more research I did and then after talking to him yesterday, our boys 945 div does not play an instrument nor are they a part of the drill team.  They are the Staff/Honor division.  My SR is the door holder for the Admiral and Chiefs as they enter PIR; others in the division are Body Snatchers or Master at Arms....did you find out what your SR does?  Can't wait to hear from you!!  :)

Yes I'm on FB. My daughter is in div 943. she is flag holder "sticks". She is on ship staff but I'm not sure what she does yet. She doesn't have any band or military back ground but she was still chosen for the 900 div. She feels so honored and we are all so proud of her. Of course she though it was a mistake at first. The girl is so hard on herself.
I missed her last phone call. I was at the movies with my phone turned off. I am so up set I missed her call!!!!!! Her father and sister missed their calls too. It must have been such a let down for her. We all feel terrible about it.
Hi keegui,
I just saw your message. I do have facebook. How can i find you? Thanks for sharing the info on the jobs of your sailor. I finally receiveda letter from my son. We actually received two. One dated 7/25 and the other 8/5. It took some time to get to us but I'm grateful. Also I forgot to ask him why we didn't receive his jeans when we received his box? His shirt cell and shoes were in there but no jeans. I thought that was weird. I'll try to find u in fb. I did talk to my son on Monday. He sounded good but he misses the family.
