Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My husband called his recruiter and he gave us the address .ie, Ship and Division. You received you "box" fast ! Still nothing here yet. We are from Ohio . Hopefully we have the proper address . Still going to mail his letters but waiting on the letter for confirmation. Just call his recruiter , they can check via computer =)

Beware of ship/division info from Recruiters.
You will receive a form letter from your Recruit after 10 days or so containing the correct address and graduation date, Don't mail anything until then.

Hang in there MishaMom and amazing too have our sons sharing this experience together !!
Our son graduated from H.S. in 2013. He worked for his dad and was enrolled at Kent State last fall. One week before classes he sat me down and said " Mom, I want the Navy " Long story short, he was in DEP. The 24th came to soon but this is what he dreamed of and that being said, Im behind him 100%. My Son's name is Nick. Would be amazing if they were already friends lol

My son also arrived at GL on 9/24. Still waiting for my "Kid in a box" and letter. I agree that I have heard to wait until you receive the actual form letter before you start sending them mail. Not only does the recruiter sometimes have inaccurate info, but you don't want to embarrass them either. My son would be mortified if he was called out because he was the first to receive mail from Mom. LOL!

Lol , Ty Melissa Still nothing here either .Ive ben writing every other day, just putting them on the island waiting for official address. Makes me sad when I think a letter now means so much when we are so use to seeing our "babies" throughout the day

Miss hearing his car enter the garage. His bike roll up with his friends( I hated the motorcycle idea). miss hearing the morning " Whats up Mom" and miss folding his laundry ! lol. Nick is our first son and wasn't ready for all this sadness =/
