Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Join Sailors In Pensacola, FL For A School....Corry Station too!! and Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola. You may also want to check out Airman Family and Friends. Your Sailor will most likely fly out to "A" School the day after PIR. See PIR Day and Liberty During PIR Weekend to help you know how to plan your weekend.
What is your recruit's rating (job/specialty) going to be? There is more information I can give you.

Graduation is a day of pride. You will cry and be happy. Your baby is a sailor. My oldest son graduated bootcamp 2 years ago and went to Pensacola for A School. Once he is in A School you will be able to communicate with him almost daily. They still have inspections and a lot of schooling. Many rules to follow. But they can have their cell phones and laptops. So SKYPE! When A school is over and they are headed to their regular duty station they can sometimes come home for a week using their leave time accumulated during bootcamp and a school. Hope that helps a little to ease your worry. :)

My son was going to look into the family passes for the USO also. He graduates on Friday and flies to Pensacola on Saturday. How/where does he go about getting the passes? Also, does anyone know if schooling starts on Monday for them? Or is there a "waiting period" before schooling begins?

AC is Air Traffic Controller. It used to be known as Air Controlman, which is why the abbreviation is AC. I left info on that rating for you on your My Page.

Yellowtorpedo PIR is awesome and so much fun! Especially when you get to hug your sailor! My son is in Pensacola, been there a month and finally classed up and started class yesterday! He likes it there very much and is having a good time. Make sure you join the Pensacola group, there is a lot of information there also. Congrats to your new Sailor and have fun this weekend!

I really had a bad day today, I was so emotional and through out the day I am so tired of crying but I know that they are cries of pride and joy, I'm sure you all understand that. Thank you again.
