Anyone else out there putting a son/daughter on a plane on Dec. 3rd?  I'm excited for him, but this pit in my stomach is not a good feeling... it is hard to let go...we spend our lives preparing them for this moment, but no one prepares us for it...

I drop my daughter off at noon today.  I am looking forward to the person she will become. She has so much potential and I know the Navy will bring the best out in her.

We dropped our son off dec 3rd -he spent the night in a hotel and on the 4th we got to see him get sworn in and spend the day with him at the airport. We relaxed in a warm military lounge - then ate dinner and got to watch him walk on to the plane.

An awesome day! Got his box and actually got a phone call from him today. The best Christmas gift we can ask for.

A navy mom, I left info for you on your My Page.

Just dropped my son off at the recruiter's office.  He'll get on a plane tomorrow.  Today came way too quickly.

My son leaves on December 8th...I am so proud and nervous for him at the same time. He on the other hand cant wait to get his Naval Career started.

Got my call last night at 9:45 pm.  It was strange to hear him reading the script.  He managed an "I love you Mom before the click.  Now I will be praying and waiting for the next call.

It's so unreal...too soon!  I thought I was prepared but I was hit with a double whammy. I thought the many hugs, kisses, talks, laughs, etc. they could handle would hold me over and it does somewhat but I miss my boys! My husband and I have two sons in boot camp right now. We dropped off one son at the recruiter on Nov 23 and one son on Dec 2. We've had 2 "I'm here, I love you" calls, 1 "kid in a box," and 1 form letter so far. I'm expecting the next "kid in box" the middle of next week and hopefully, soon after, the first son at boot camp can call and talk for more than a minute. He (1st son at boot) doesn't know his brother got there Dec 3 (2nd son wasn't supposed to ship until Mar 12 but accepted a job leaving earlier). I would love to be a fly on the wall when he sees his brother...they started the journey together and wanted to do boot at the same time but the jobs had them starting months apart until now. So hubby and I will be dipping into the savings so we can spend a week in Great Lakes...2 PIRs back to back!!!

My son left on the 2nd, out of New Jersey. Dropped him off at his recruiters on the 1st. We're from outside of Phila. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do!

Hi, SMIPA. We're from the same neck of the woods. I live in the Philly metro South Jersey suburbs, and my son flew out on Dec. 3rd.

My son flew out on Dec 2 from San Jose.... waiting to receive his box and waiting to receive his letter.... Can't wait to see him

Rose, check your My Page.

Hi! I dropped my son off at the recruiter's office on Dec 3rd. I got the phone call the 4th at almost midnight! I received "the box" today, which was super fast. I've been reading soooo much just trying to learn everything I can. I laughed a little when I pulled his jeans out of the box because I had aleready read that they would probably still be rolled up from checking their shoe sizes......they were! I'm glad I have other moms to talk to now. It makes this a lot more bearable!
