For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 057 and 058
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.
Get to know each other, your SRs are!
Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

My son arrived to GL on 13 Nov and is training with Div 058. He will be headed to Pensacola, FL for Aviation Boatswain. Not sure if he will be equipment, fuel, handling. His Dad and I will be attending graduation on 9 Jan and we will be attending Sarge's "Meet and Greet". Would love to meet others in Div 057 and 058 and any other parents who's sons/daughters are going to be AB's.

My son arrived on 13 Nov as well and will be heading to Charleston, SC for Nuke school. His dad, brother, girlfriend and I will be attending graduation on the Jan 9, but are not sure we will be able to make the meet and greet. We are so excited that we are able to spend Christmas day with him also! I never thought that would be an option!

HI Jakemom,
Our son who is a senior in high school has already swore in for the Navy and he will be attending Nuke school after boot camp. He leaves for boot camp next August. We are so proud of him. Our oldest son, Jake is at boot camp now and will be going to Florida for his A school. Are you going to Sarge's meet and greet? Hope to see you there.

Our son also arrived on 13 Nov. He too will be at A-School in Pensacola for AB-H school.
My husband and I, our 3 daughters (SR's sisters), Nana & Papa will be in Chicago. My husband and I, one daughter, and Papa (Navy guy) will be attending. Nana and the other sisters will be watching online and then joining us for time with our Sailor.
What is this about time with them at Christmas?

For the recruits graduating on either 31 Dec or 9 Jan can be adopted by their families to leave base and spend Christmas day together: Here is the notice from the RTC Facebook page.
Eligible recruits from the Training Groups graduating Dec. 31 and Jan. 9 who wish to invite their family to adopt them for the Adopt-A-Sailor program have mailed the official form to the family member of their choice. Eligible family members who are authorized to arrive on base to pick up their recruit include: mother, father, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In order to ensure the safety of recruits during Adopt-a-Sailor, no other individuals besides those listed above are authorized to fax the yellow form to the Public Affairs Office and arrive on base on Christmas morning. Any deviance from this is against command policy at Recruit Training Command.
For those family members who plan on adopting their recruit on Christmas morning, after faxing your completed form to the Public Affairs Office, please bring the original copy for access to the base. Recruits who are not adopted by an immediate family member will enjoy a day of great food and relaxation with a host organization in the Greater Chicago area.
Recruits who are leaving base with an immediate family member are allowed to bring one shipmate along with them. However, recruits must plan this with their family beforehand. They are the only individuals who can choose who they wish to accompany them on Christmas. Any undocumented pairings without the recruit’s knowledge is not allowed.
The Adopt-a-Sailor program is a long-standing tradition at Recruit Training Command. Thank you for keeping it a success with your support! -

If you go to Facebook and then go to the FBC Sailor page you will probably get to see your sailor!! They are the group that hosted our two divisions for Christmas and they have put some pictures on their website. The one of the sailor playing the piano is my son! Also, there is a video of them singing Anchors Away and they pan back and forth several times.
